Widening her eyes, Dawn shook her head as she clasped her hand to her mouth and fell into a chair. "Wh...what? N...no...it has to be a mistake Buffy..." Looking down, all she could think of was the time they lost their mother. Shaking her head, she felt tears pricking her eyes but she fought them back as she grew stony faced.
She couldn't do this. She couldn't break down. She needed to be there for Buffy and Willow. They were Xander's best friends. Seeing Willow crumple to the floor, she quickly knelt next to her and wrapped an arm around Willow's shoulder. Instead of offering some sign of sympathy, she looked around the Magic Box. "T...there has to be s...something we can do..." Looking at Buffy then at Tara, she shook her head "There has to be! Please...there has to be.."

Tara took a step back without meaning to... like Buffy's word had slapped her. She hadn't know Xander for long, but she knew him enough to know he was very close to Buffy and the gang. She looked over to Willow and her eyes suddenly teared up as Willow fell down, obviously upset. Tara ran to Willow and fell down next to her, tears from seeing the pain in Willow leaking from her eyes.
"Oh no. I- I'm so sorry." Tara rubbed Willow's back in comfort, while her other hand was placed on Dawn's arm in comfort. Now she looked at Buffy. "M- maybe there is something we could do..." Now she glanced at Willow, wondering if what she was thinking was a good idea or just plain stupid.

Buffy's gaze lowered to all three girls on the ground, both Willow and Tara had tears streaming down their cheeks. Then she looked to her little sister... who was being so strong on the outside, but Buffy knew it would have been a struggle to not cry along too. "There is." She murmured to them, looking straight at Tara now. "I want him back... need him back, no questions asked. Tara, Willow... I need you guys."
She moved over to the fallen books and picked one up without even looking at the title. Somehow, she'd known it was the book she needed. Buffy walked back to the group and sat down close to them, then flipped to a page quickly, with still no expression on her face.
"This needs to be done as soon as you can." She pointed to a particular spell, one that read Resurrection. Buffy didn't know how she knew what page to go to, or even what book to grab, she just knew it was the one to bring back Xander and make all this mess in the past, even forgotten.

Feeling Dawn's and Tara's arms encircle her, the tears fell faster, she needed to be strong for the younger Summer's, Buffy and Tara. Especially Tara. She wiped the tears away and tried to slow her breathing and get better control over herself. M- maybe there is something we could do[/i] She heard Tara say and she looked up to meet Tara's beautiful, tear swollen eyes.
"I...I...guess we could." She said, "But it's a bit risk, there's so much that could go wrong." She said, all the magical mishaps flying through her mind that had happened recently.

Blinking and seeing what the spell was, Dawn widened her eyes and started to shake her head "B...Buffy...w...we did this before...remember? With Mom? You really want to go through that again?" Looking back down at the spell, her mind flashed back to the day their mom died and then how she tried to resurrect Joyce. She would've gone through with it if Buffy hadn't stopped her.
Looking down and furrowing her eyebrows, she shook her head then looked up trying to hide all the emotions that she was feeling, growing stony faced again "Of course we have to do it...Willow...Tara...please...Xander's our friend...he could be anywhere between here and heaven or hell...he could be trapped!! We have to pull him back.."

Buffy's head snapped towards Willow. "Of course so many things could go wrong, but think of the things that could do right. We'd have Xander back. Will, I can't deal with losing both my mom and one of my best friends. Don't make me go through that."
Tears were gathering in Buffy's eyes now, her zombie like state disappearing. Then when Dawn agreed, Buffy now looked to Tara. "With both of you, I know we can bring him back... we have to try."

Xander ignored the shadows surrounding him, slowly dragging him.... Somewhere he didn't know and he didn't want to know. He also didn't want Buffy, Dawn, Willow and Tara to do this spell. Past experiences have proven that this isn't the best idea.
He watched as Buffy picked up a random book and flipped to the resurrection page. She was serious about this. "Buffy, no!" He said with anger, and the book slammed shut and flew off the table. He hoped that Buffy got the message.

Blinking and swallowing, listening to Buffy, Dawn looked down uncertain what to say. She knew that it could end badly but she didn't know what else to say. Sighing and looking at the resurrection spell again, she bit her lip then looked down, her hair hanging down in her face to hide the expression on her face.
Looking quickly at the table as the book flew off of it and slammed shut, she widened her eyes stepping back "I...don't know about this Buffy...that looks like a sign that we shouldn't do it..." Looking down at the book, she knelt and picked it up then shuddered. It felt like she plunged into some ice cold water. Looking around, she furrowed her eyebrows in puzzlement remembering about what they said about sudden chilly spots. Blinking, she looked around again "Buffy...it suddenly turned very cold over here..but isn't chilly anywhere else...just here.."
Furrowing her eyebrows, she looked around then frowned in thought "But that's stupid..."

Tara looked to Willow and nodded, returning her gaze to the stricken-looking Slayer. "She's right, Buffy. So much could go wrong that it... it wouldn't be safe." She then listened to Dawn's pleads and Buffy's stubbornness. It hurt to see her new friends so upset and she'd love to bring back Xander to make everything right again. But magic was not to be messed with...
She shot Willow an uneasy look, hoping the Summers girls wouldn't notice. "I don't think we should..." She whispered to Willow then gasped as a book slammed onto the ground. "That's a sign." She added, softly, to everyone. Tara stood up as Dawn retrieved the book. "You're right, Dawn. It is a sign and... did you just say you're in a c-cold spot?" Her uneasiness was becoming worse.
Suddenly, she turned to Willow with some hope. "What if we... we can contact him? Not bring him back to life, but talk to him as a spirit? It will let us see if h-he's okay. If he's happy where he is. That will help us make a decision..."

(OOC- Has anyone thought about contacting Xander's parents? Just a thought XD)
Xander's eyes began to well up along with the others, he never knew that spirits could cry. Everyone was acting the right way to his death, everyone that is but Buffy. He thought what she went through when she was ressurected would tell her never to do this again.
"About time" he mumbled to himself when Dawn realised that he was sending them signs. As Dawn bent down to retrieve the book, she went through him and at the same time he felt like he walked into the sun. She was exhibiting so much heat, the heat of life that is. Which is the exact opposite to what she felt.
Tara mentioned to contact him in the spirit world, Xander like this idea. It would give him to the chance to tell them that he didn't want them to ressurect them, and warn them about the shadows around him that are trying to capture him. They could defeat them leaving a path for Xander to finally, and peacfully pass on.

Buffy's head whipped towards the fallen book and listened to what the others were saying about it being a sign. "He could be trying to tell us he agrees." Buffy said hastily. She wouldn't give up on this... she wanted, no, needed... her best friend back and was sure it was the right thing to do. "How could you just assume a sign could be bad?" She asked Tara and Dawn.
Then she heard what Tara had mentioned and her eyes lit up. She'd get to see Xander again? Buffy thought with a child-like manner. "Okay, we'll do it." She agreed with a firm nod of her head.

Blinking, Dawn nodded "Yes, it might be the best way to go about this Buffy...to contact Xander and find out where he is...if he's in danger, then we pull him back...if he's happy...then..I hate to say it...we let him go.."
Looking down, she bit her lip remembering her own feelings for Xander about a year ago...if even that. She had had a crush on him and this was tearing her up inside but she had to have a clear head about this.
Looking back up, she sighed then looked from Tara to Buffy and chewed on her lip "Have you thought about contacting Xander's parents? Maybe...one of us should do that.."

Tara nodded along with Dawn after saying if he was happy, he stays, if not, he comes back. But she also felt she had to say something that they were all more than likely thinking. "Magic is seriously dangerous... don't get me wrong, I want him back too... it's just... what if he comes back w-wrong?"
She glanced to all of them and continued, "Would you want him back not the person you remember? What if he comes back not knowing who any of us our? Would you be... willing to take that chance?" After that speech, Tara now looked at Buffy. "I just felt I had to say that." She told the Slayer softly.
Tara still looked at Buffy, but was regarding the whole group. "The thing with this s-spell is... only one person can talk to him directly." She left it there, leaving it up to them who would take that offer. She kind of knew it would be Buffy, but maybe she'd want someone else to, thinking it was too hard to only see him as a spirit...

Xander listened intently to what Tara said, she was right. She was expressing his worst concerns to the rest of the group. "Finally" he sighed in relief, "someone's listening to me!" He smiled.
"Oh we're listening to you..." a voiced echoed through the room.
"Who said that?" Xander asked, suddenly alarmed.
"A foe... An ally"
"How can you be both?" Xander asked, eyes circling the room to find the origin of the voice.
"It's your decision, your path... Whichever one you choose, you'll get your answer" the voice began to fade away.
Xanders eyes were quizzical. "What do you mean?" He asked, although no answer came. If his heart were beating, it would be beating pretty fast.
"Hello?" Xander yelled, staring at the ceiling. Like before, a response didn't come.

Blinking, Dawn furrowed her eyebrows listening to Tara then nodded quietly. Looking at Buffy, she bit her lip then furrowed her eyebrows "Do you think you can handle talking to him Buffy? If not...I...I guess I can...or maybe Tara.." Taking the book, she read the spell again then quickly shut it shaking her head and not believing what they almost did with the resurrection spell.
Swallowing slightly, she looked back up and turned around toward her sister "If something bad's happening, we resort to this...only as a last resort though."
Turning again, she looked around then furrowed her eyebrows. It would seem that she picked up on Xander's voice...or someone's but she wasn't sure...all that she knew was that they were definately not alone in the Shop but she wasn't about to say that as she crossed her arms and looked back at her sister waiting for her to say something.
