Buffy glared at her little sister, who seemed quite intent on teasing her. "Daaawn, do you want me to have grey hair before my time? That's what your going to do to me!" She pointed to her black wig, indicating to her blonde hair underneath. "I like my hair young, thank you." She added.
Buffy glanced behind her to see Willow and Tara walking and talking with their arms linked. She also overheard Tara ask about Willow and Willow's answer. "Will, you're too modest. There's been plenty of times she's helped save the world! Plus, she's the bestest friend you could ever have." As soon as she said that, she quickly glanced to Xander and added, "One of the bestest friends, I mean."
She then turned back around before hearing that Faith had caught up. She halted and grabbed Dawn by the shoulders, stopping her too. "NO! Don't you even think about drinking, girlie. And Faith, stop giving my curious, danger-loving sister ideas." She released Dawn and looked back at Giles.
"Giles, Dawn's being a meanie." Buffy whined, pouting a little. "She trying to age me with worry!"

Laughing and hearing Buffy, Dawn raised an eyebrow "Was that what I saw before you put the wig on Buffy? Was that a little bit of....grey..?" Waiting for Buffy to answer, she looked back at Willow and Tara and smiled a little. She still thought they looked cute together "Yeah...Willow's like another sister to me..." Quickly looking around at the others she shrugged "I guess we're like one big family if you think of it. I mean Buffy's my real big sister, Willow's like another sister who's always there for you, Xander's like a big protective brother, Faith...well...Faith is almost like a sister..I guess.." Furrowing her eyebrows she looked at Faith still a little uncertain about her, "and Giles? He's like the British Librarian Dad who keeps us all glued together...while we bug the heck out of him!!"
Grinning, she looked back at Buffy as she grabbed her shoulders and shrugged a little "I was just kidding Buffy...No way would I want to drink something that smells like rat pee..."

Giles was surprised the way Buffy reacted to Dawn's joke about drinking. It was really like Buffy had really sunk into her new role as a mother. It couldn't be compared to her old responsibility as the slayer, but it was still difficult for her considering her age.
"British Librarian Dad?" Giles said quizzical, "that is a new one, and I suppose I'll take it as a compliment" Giles said, raising one eyebrow.
Giles opened the door to The Bronze, and walked inside. Still one hand on the door, to provide entrance for the others. He was amazed at the creativity and imagination everyone had with costumes. They're were people dressed as zombies, costumes of various deaths and the old classic werewolves.
This should be fun Giles thought.

Ally was enjoying the walk, although not much was heading her way conversation wise she still felt like part of The Scoobies. Everyone seemed friendly enough and even Tara was coming around, nothing could ruin this evening she decided. Walking behind Giles into The Bronze a grin spread across her face, everyone got into Halloween in Sunnydale. "This town is kinda cool, everyone almost looks real, course I'd know." She laughed to Giles.

Tara watched Willow blush and it caused her smile to widen. She found that when Willow blushed because of her, Tara couldn't help but feel like the luckiest woman alive to cause a response like that from someone she was liking more and more.
She now glanced at Buffy who was ahead after Willow said that she helped her. "But, isn't she the Slayer? I didn't think Slayer's... needed help." Now it was Tara's turn to blush, hoping she didn't just sound offensive. That would be her luck... to turn Willow against her because she'd said something stupid.
"I-I only mean that I've heard that Slayer's are supposed to work alone. I know you're help would be very... helpful. I-I just... you know, wondered." To get away from this awful topic, Tara switched the subject. "A witch, huh? That makes two of us. Do you think we could do a spell together one day?"
Her expression darkened a little when Willow said she was the one who always suffered. If she had her way, she'd make sure Willow never went through that again. Maybe she could use her own magic to keep her new friend safe, since Tara couldn't bare for Willow to get hurt. From now on, Tara knew, she'd always be keeping an eye out, even if Willow didn't know it.

Willow smiled at Tara and placed a hand on her arm, the electricity was still sizzling, although it could be felt in the air between them, heightened by the dark. "Don't worry Tara I know what you mean, Faith probably found it a little strange that Buffy had her gang of people to help her, we all play our parts in whatever way we can."
Willow saw the expression on Tara's face darken suddenly, "Hey." She said moving to stand in front of her, stopping them walking, "You OK? Have I done someting wrong?" she asked, her eyes filled with worry.

Angel stood in the shadows, hands in the pockets of his black slacks as he leaned against the wall. He watched as all of the party goers entered, dressed in costumes that merely attempted to imitate what goes on every night after dark. Halloween was such a strange day in retrospect for Angel--a celebration of darkness observed by the victims of darkness.
It was why Halloween night was usually a quiet night for Angel.
...Which is why this year's Halloween is even stranger.
Angel received a tip that some Halloween enthusiasts had their eyes on the Bronze. He wasn't sure exactly what was planned but he reassured himself it couldn't be too serious. Halloween isn't so appealing for those who go bump in the night on a regular basis. Still, figuring that Buffy would be going out tonight, Angel decided to keep watch from a distance.
Soon enough, he saw Buffy and the rest of the gang start to enter the Bronze. Angel had to grin to himself when he saw their costumes, especially Buffy's outfit. And Giles...was...well...interesting.
Angel's attention was distracted for a minute when he thought he saw a glimpse of someone on the roof of the building. He wasn't sure if this was something to be worried about or some teenager attempting to be daring. Angel sighed and felt that it would be best to just enter the Bronze in case something does happen.
...even when being a vampire surrounded by a bunch of humans dressed up like vampires wasn't his ideal plan for Halloween night.
Trying to look on the bright side, he thought about spending the night with Buffy, which makes the cringe-factor of him being there easier to tolerate.
With his hands still casually in his pockets, he made his way across the street as Giles was holding the door open. He gave a teasing smile as he made eye contact with Buffy on his way over. "Wow, you look...terrifying." Angel said with a bit of a laugh.

Buffy glared at her sister, knowing she was teasing to get a reaction from her, but still not able to resist. "If there is any gray on my head, you're to blame." She shot back, but smiled at the last thing Dawn said. "Yeah, rat pee doesn't sound so appealing, does it? And that is exactly what it tastes like." She added, hoping that Dawn wouldn't actually try something and just took her word for it.
She nodded as Dawn explained how they were all like a family. She'd always thought of the Scoobies like that and probably always will. They had always been there for her, like when her mother passed away, and that she was so grateful for. She didn't know what she'd do without them... Buffy then heard what Ally had said. "I prefer them like this... dressed up. If only all of them could be like this. But then, I would be out of a job so I suppose there's ups and downs."
She then turned around to make sure the two witches were still following when she'd noticed they'd stopped. "Hey, is everything okay back there?" She called out, then mentally scolded herself. They probably wanted some privacy and she'd pretty much just ruined that.As she was thinking that and wondering how she could fix her mistake, an all too familiar figure approached them. "Thank you, I wish I could say the same for you. What, you haven't heard of dressing up to look scary?" Buffy retorted, a smile playing on her lips too.

Smiling Dawn nodded at Giles "It is a compliments Giles...I mean you're like a dad to all of us...making sure we all behave ourselves..." Looking at Faith then back at Giles, she shrugged "Well...I mean sometimes..." Looking at Willow and Tara she tilted her head curiously then sighed a little looking down upon hearing slayers working alone. Furrowing her eyebrows, she still wished that she could help out her sister with something like that but she wasn't sure what to do.
She felt so useless sometimes. She knew that the Scoobies had a hand in the things Buffy did. Willow was the witch, Fait was another Slayer, Giles was the watcher and Xander helped out a lot in some situations as well. Sometimes she felt that there was no need for her. She was just a tag-along.
Hearing Buffy saying something about gray hair again, she grinned a little hiding her emotions again. She had been doing that a lot lately...especially after losing their mother. Shrugging, she said "Well...you have yourself to blame too ya know...I mean with all the responsibility of slaying and all.."
Listening to Ally, she shrugged "Yeah...I guess it is cool. That is if you like demons and all..." Swallowing and realizing what she said, she looked up at Ally again "I...I mean...um...no offense..."

Angel sighed heavily and shrugged at Buffy's comment. "Yeah...well...Halloween really isn't my thing." He looked around at all the costumes once more and gave a small grin at Buffy. "Look, maybe I'm one of those men in black guys from that movie," Laughing a bit, he said, "I don't know. I think Halloween lost its charm when you know crazy things happen on daily basis."
He paused and said, "Those men in black guys actually wear black don't they?...it's not just a name?" Angel had to admit, he did more reading these days than watching movies.

Tara stopped too when Willow did, her concern etched on her pretty, pale face made Tara feel guilty and silly. She smiled and shook her head. "I'm fine. Just... remembering something. Nothing to worry about." She placed her hand in Willow's and pulled her along, just in time to see a new figure at the door of the Bronze who was talking to Buffy.
"Who's the Mister Mysterious?" Tara asked Willow, hoping to change the subject and go back to how they were minutes ago. She didn't know herself where that sudden feeling of protect had come from, but she knew it wasn't about to disappear. She also realised how bold she'd just been by leading Willow and she quickly let go, blushing furiously. Willow was bringing out her confidence but she wasn't used to it... she'd always been the shy, lonely girl and didn't really remember ever feeling that she belonged.

Xander's eyes narrowed on one guy through the crowd, he couldn't believe it. He thought he had chosen an original one-of-a-kind outfit, but they was another person dancing the night away in the same costume. He made a mental note to avoid that guy tonight. At least Giles won't have this problem.
"Crap" Xander cursed. "There's another guy wearing the same costume" he said, overreacting.
His attention, like everyone else's turned to the new arrival, Angel. "Nice costume Angel, let me guess" he paused, pretending to study his costume, "tall, dark and brooding?" He smiled. "Although it can't be compared to Giles costumes".
Xander heard Tara ask Willow who the 'Mister Mysterious' was. He leaned over, and answerd for her.
"That's Angel, he's a vampire with a soul. He and Buffy went out for a bit. But he has this curse, where if he has one moment of perfect happiness" he gestured at Buffy, "he'd lose his soul and become Angelus."

"Get over it Xander" Giles rolled his eyes. "It's just a costume." His eyes followed Angel as he made his way over to them.
"Thanks" Giles forced a smile at Angel's pathetic attempt at a compliment on his costume. "If you noticed then other people are going to notice" he said, pouting. Now regretting his costume choice even more.
Giles brows furrowed at Xander. "It's just a costume." Giles had a sudden impluse to smack Xander across the head for sarcastically paying out his costume. He changed the subject to avoid more conversation about his costume.
"I wouldn't have imagined you to have come to a party like this, Angel" he said, hoping that Angel would explain why he did show. Typically Angel's presence meant danger, which Giles hoped wasn't the case. He wanted Buffy to have one night off and for all of them to have fun. If that were possible for him instead of being humiliated.

Buffy nodded at Dawn's words about Giles being like a father to them. "She's right, Giles. We all look up to you for advice and stuff... well, I know I do." She gave him an innocent smile. Then she moved to ruffle Dawn's hair like a Grandmother would do her Granddaughter. "Oh Slaying... back when I was your age..." Buffy started in an elderly voice then laughed, going along with the grey-hair joke.
Buffy now regarded Angel and shrugged. "I guess you have a point there... especially when you feel like you're living Halloween everyday. The novelty does wear a bit thin." She laughed and added, "Yes, Angel. They're not called Men In Black for nothing."
She overheard Tara ask who Angel was, by calling him Mister Mysterious, and she turned away, blushing. Tara wasn't wrong with that title, Buffy had to agree. She threw a glance over at Xander when he mentioned her with Angel and her cheeks got redder. "Uh, how about we get this party started?" She announced, a bit too cheerily.
Buffy then sidled up to Giles. "Don't stress, I like it." She told him, referring to the costume.

Angel gave an amused grin at Buffy when she answered him and then turn to Giles. He ignored the woman's commentary about his mysteriousness and decided to properly introduce himself later.
"No," He answered Giles, his demeanor changing to a more serious temperament. Stepping up to him, in order to keep his voice as low as possible, he said, "I, uh...I have a slight suspicion something is brewing for Halloween. Not quite sure what yet. I thought the Bronze would be a prime target and I decided to scope things out. Just in case."
He looked at Buffy and then addressed them both. "You all, go inside. Don't worry about it. I'll just be around in case something happens. Halloween has a reputation for low Hellmouth activity so I don't think there's much to worry about. But you can never be to sure." He glanced at Giles again, his expression serious in order to let him know that he can put his trust in him.
