A figure snuck around the back of the ever popular Magic Shop. Finding the back door it gripped the knob and twisted. Nothing happened. Cursing, the figure threw off the hood of its sweatshirt letting blonde-brown hair tumble down her back in waves. Alaki Carolina Istvosqi was not accustomed to breaking and entering but her curiosity had won out so here she stood, glaring at the Magic Box’s backdoor. Again she took hold of the doorknob and twisted, this time much harder. The locking mechanism snapped and Alaki pushed the door open.
Entering what was obviously the back room Alaki slipped the shelves and shelves of merchandise. This backroom was dark but she could hear voices coming from the main shop area. “Excalibur,” she whispered. “Help me look.”
From under her sweatshirt the hilt of a sword appeared. It peaked up from her back then slid out of its sheath with a soft shhing sound. Excalibur darted around the backroom, an air of resigned disapproval about it. It kept turning back to her as if hoping she would change her mind. “Quit complaining,” Alaki told the sword. “I’m not going to steal anything, I just want a look at my Watcher Diary.”

Dawn's voice could be heard through the doorway as she sighed irritably "Yeah, but Buffy....I was only late by 5 minutes...that was no reason to ground me!! Hang on...I gotta get something from the back."
When the door opened from the shop, a young girl of about 16 made her way into the back area. She was late getting home the night before from a party and her older sister, the slayer, was grounding her for it. Pushing a hand through her hair, she sighed irritably then turned, looking down at a book in her hands. It was Alaki's Watcher Diary.
Having been told by Buffy and the others that it wouldn't hurt to study up on the 'new girl in town' Dawn had done just that, going to the source that they had...Giles' journal on her. Hearing some rummaging around and a girl's voice, she looked up from the Diary and gasped seeing Alaki there with...a flying sword.
Immediately shutting the door behind her, she shook her head and closed the Diary, hiding it behind her back "How on earth did you get in here? Do you know that you could get into so much trouble for breaking and entering in here?"

So distracted with finding her Watcher's Diary was Alaki that she didn't notice the voices coming from the storefront or when one of them began to move towards the back room. Instead she was delighted when she found a row of shelves full of Watcher Diaries, all spelled against flame, age and pretty much every other form of destruction. They were organized alphabetically and she went to the far side of the shelf where the "A's" were. Excalibur joined her and began looking through the higher shelves where she couldn't reach.
Alaki had just come to Angelus's Watcher Diary--rather dissapointing as "l" came before "n"--when she heard the door open behind her. Whirling around Alaki expected to see the Slayer, stake in hand ready to dust her without a second thought. Instead she saw a teenager with brown hair and pretty blue eyes.
"How on earth did you get in here? Do you know that you could get into so much trouble for breaking and entering in here?"
She raised an eyebrow at the teen. The girl acted as if she knew Alaki and Alaki was pretty sure she had never met this girl before. But her question was reasonable. "I broke the the lock. You guys might want to reinforce it with steel or demon bone." An idea occured to Alaki and she smiled slyly. "I can fix it for you, if you let me have a look at my Watcher's Diary." Blinking and hearing Alaki, Dawn furrowed her eyebrows then shook her head "I knew it...I told Giles we had to do something about that lock...but he won't listen to me...I'm just a teenager to him." But she was so much more than that. She had been the key to opening demon dimensions once. Hell, with Corlafka's and Kage's appearances it seemed she still was.
Looking at Alaki again, she looked at Excalibur curiously and tilted her head. Remembering what she read in the diary, she looked back to Alaki "You're Alaki...aren't you?" Holding the Diary to her chest, she shook her head uncertainly "I don't know if I should...but it is written about you."
Sighing, she set it on one of the countertops "Okay...just...be quiet while you're doing it...I don't think Buffy would like to know that you broke in here...and she's already on my case." Sliding the diary over to Alaki, Dawn sighed and lifted herself on the countertop and leaned against the bookcase behind it "Why do you want to read it anyway?"

Alaki smiled. For some odd reason she liked this little slip of humanity, something that was very, very rare. Alaki, for the most part, thought humans were stupid, foolish creatures who couldn’t seem to learn from their mistakes, which irked her. This teenager seemed different however, and Alaki could only think of one human—Maze Riley—that interested her the way this one did.
When Dawn correctly guessed Alaki’s name Alaki’s smile grew wider, revealing sharp, inhuman canines that glowed pearl-white in the dim light. “You know my name but what’s your's?” Alaki asked, still watching the teen as the younger girl slid the Watcher Diary she had been holding towards her on the counter. Alaki stopped the thick book with her hand, not taking her ocean blue eyes off Dawn.

Looking at Alaki, Dawn remained slightly on guard then shrugged a little remaining between Alaki and the door out of the back room to the alley. She didn't sense any notion of leaving with the book from her, but Dawn wasn't going to risk any chances. "My name? It's Dawn Summers...and yes, before you ask, I am the Slayer's little sister..."
Watching her with the book, Dawn furrowed her eyebrows then leaned against the wall not flinching at all as she saw the fangs showing. "I know your name because of the Diary...girl with a sword like that? There was only one person you could be." Nodding to Excalibur she smiled a little "That's Excalibur...Correct?"

Excalibur, hearing its name, came prancing over to Dawn. It circled her, as if taking the teen in and making a decision. It obviously found what it was looking for because it started to act like a puppy happy to meet a stranger.
Alaki gave Dawn a toothy smile. “Hello Dawn, it’s nice to meet you. And yes, that’s Excalibur,” she said rolling her eyes at the sword’s childish antics. “And it’s about to get put back in its sheath if it doesn’t start behaving,” Alaki added pointedly.
The sword looked around at her and bowed its hilt, slinking back to Alaki’s side looking properly ashamed of itself. Alaki ignored Excalibur’s wounded look and flipped open her Watcher’s Diary. She wanted to read it because she loved knowing what other people thought of her. It was a characteristic she had carried over from her time as a human. The first page was just a bio of her life as a human, complete with picture. Alaki frowned and touched the faded print. The picture was a black and white of the painting her father had commissioned when she was seventeen. She was in her dancing dress, the one that she wore when performing. Although the picture didn’t show it, the dress was a brilliant ocean blue to match her eyes.
Something stirred in Alaki’s chest, a deep longing she couldn’t explain. Quickly, she turned the page. The next six pages where about her family, complete with pictures. In their pictures her Sire and brothers looked just as imposing, regal, cute, and childish as they were in real unlife.
The pages after that was the history of The Order of the Lake, complete with a sketch of Excalibur. Alaki skipped over that right to her own history. She read this with interest, laughing at some places where the writers had gotten things wrong, which was surprisingly often.

Blinking and looking at Excalibur, Dawn laughed a little and touched the blade gently. She had always had a fondness for weapons...much to Buffy's chagrin. "Umm...nice to meet you Excalibur...I guess.." Seeing how it acted, she raised an eyebrow then shrugged "Interesting way for a sword to behave..."
Looking at Alaki as she turned through the pages of the diary, she bit her lip at Alaki's emotions then sat back down on the counter crossing one leg over the other. Picking up Excalibur, she turned it in her hands, examining it then looked back at Alaki, not wanting to bother her as she read her history.
(Sorry for the shortness of the post and for taking so long...life has been real hectic)

While they two girls are in the back room, the magic shops office bell rings as a customer comes in. Giles is busy with some of his research on the unusual fox that Dawn mentioned to him from the sight she saw at the school earlier that day. He calls out to Dawn to come and take care of the customer since it is her duty today to work at the resister while Xander and Anya are busy elsewhere for the day.
While waiting for Dawn to come out, Kage looks around at the items that are within the magic shop looking through things for magical spells, typical incents, and more. He continues to roam the store quietly looking through things he stops at a small bookshelf that haves different books on healing and love spells. He picks up one and looks through it.

Looking toward the door out of the storeroom and hearing Giles, Dawn sighed and ran a hand through her hair. Heaven forbid she take a ten minute break. Patting Excalibur rather fondly on the hilt, she smiled "Now you better stay here...Giles might be wondering why a sword is flying and following me around in the shop." Smiling at Alaki, she raised an eyebrow "Just remember to be quiet...I don't know how Watcher Guy out there would take having someone read through his precious Watcher's Diaries..."
Saying that, she exited the shop then looked around and froze seeing Kage by the books. Smiling and recognizing the teacher from the school, she made her way through the bookshelves. "Okay, so you found out where I work. You're not gonna go all Giles on me and follow me around like he does with Buffy are you?"
Looking pointedly at Giles, Dawn raised an eyebrow "It's cool Giles...he's cool."

Kage blinks and then smiles at Dawn, then chuckles at her question. “Actually no, I saw this shop earlier today and wanted to stop in and check it out to see what was actually here.” He puts the book back where he found it. “Besides that, I didn’t know you were going to be here at that.” He walks a little closer to her but then stops and looks through the shelf unit that haves more incents and knick knacks on them as he peers over to Giles.
Since Giles was watching them a bit before he gone back into his studies. Then Kage skims over the shelf and items and picks up a bottle of sage and looks it over. “This is a nice little shop, and very interesting items here.” He moves to another shelf and picks up a jar of liquid to read what is in it to see if it is something he may need.

Crossing her arms over her chest, Dawn studied Kage. She was still trying to figure him out. There was something about him. She just couldn't figure it out. She remembered having a talk with him at the school then all too soon there was chaos there and he disappeared but she saw the fox. Hmm...something was definitely odder than usual. Nodding, she shrugged "Yeah...I work here after school sometimes."
Looking toward Giles, she made a face at him. She really had nothing against him but when he turned all watchery? Yeah...it got annoying. Sighing, she tucked a hand behind her ear then looked over at a table and saw flat on it, one of Giles' Watcher Diaries. Gasping and quickly covering it up, she looked at Kage as he picked up a jar of liquid and other little things "So...what can I get you?"
Glaring at Giles, she uncovered the book and looked at him pointedly telling him that he should be more careful where he left his books lying around.

Kage already glanced over the book, but didn’t touch since he knew what it was and never touched another watchers book unless had permission to do so. He put the one jar away that he was looking at and found a tiny vial that said dragon’s blood on it and picks it up. Then looks for a small empty jar, and picks up two more vials of liquid and heads to the register to pay for the items.
“Just hear to buy some things is all, and be on my to do what I need to do.” He smiles again at Dawn, though he is trying to keep an eye on her, but since there is a watcher here, he isn’t worried much. As he stands at the counter waiting to be ringed up, he pulls out his wallet so that he can pay for his items. Though he still plans to stick close and keep an eye on Dawn, because he feels there is something much more special about her then anything she had told him at the school building.

Blinking and seeing Kage looking at the jar, Dawn looked back at Giles who seemed to be watching them intently over the book he was reading then frowned at him. What was he thinking? Pursing her lips and looking at Kage as he picked up a vial, labeled Dragon's Blood, she smiled "That seems to be one of our top sellers for some reason.
Hearing as he said that he was there to buy some things and be on his way to do what he needed to do, she couldn't help but wonder what it was that he needed to do. Furrowing her eyebrows, she looked back at Giles who suddenly seemed preoccupied with the book. Nodding, she followed him to the register and rang up his prices. "Um...that'll be about $13.23." Looking back to him, she felt a twinge at the back of her mind that something was definitely odd about Kage but she couldn't put her finger on it.

Kage smiled as she mentioned how popular the Dragon’s blood is. “Well, if it is true to its name on the vial and real, it is a powerful thing for many spells and if used correctly can do great good.” He pays for his goods and leaves the shop a little tip. “Thank you.” He smiles and gathered his bagged goods and walks out of the shop. Once he passes the large window on the right and disappears from site, he leaps up on top of the building next to it and then quietly walks over to be on the top of the magic shop. Once he has settled on the shop quietly, he starts to work on the potions that he bought all the stuff for.
After he had left Giles, goes to the cash register to see the list of items that have been just recently bought to make sure none was sold that would mean great harm to anyone. However, all the items that been sold left him in confusion on what would be created out of them and frowns. All he knows is something very strange is going on, cannot place his finger on it, since two items are very strong, and can be used for either great good or evil. But with the Dragon’s blood added into the mix, something is way off, so he heads toward the back room, but doesn’t go in while he looks for a book of spells and potions.
Kage sits on the roof and starts to make his mixtures, one being for healing devastating wounds to any mortal or immortal that is on the brink of death. The other is for a spyglass, he pulls out a small reflective item from his pocket and places a little mixture on it, and he can now see into the Magic Shop as well as listen into conversations. He is only doing this to watch Dawn closely as well as this Watcher that is in the shop, while he is doing that, he spots Alaki in one of the rooms as well, though her image is a little blurry in the reflective surface of his item, he can that she is not human, but a vampire, since he cannot see her clearly, if she was a demon, he would see her true form. However, as long as she not there to cause harm he has no reason to bother her.
