CJ and Hannah Alvin pulled into their driveway. They both look, exhausted like they spent the night driving. CJ, unshaven reached over to his wife, and ran his fingers through her hair. “I love you” he whispered.
“I love you too” she whispered back, pulling on a fake smile. She turned to look in the back seat. There, laid a baby, no more then a few days old.
“You sure about this?” CJ asked. Hannah responded with slight nod. “Ok” he sighed, “I’ll go draw the bath” he said as he got out of the car. Hannah got out too, opened the back door and picked up their newborn son.
“I’m sorry, baby” Hannah whispered in her baby’s ear as they ascended the stairs to their second floor. The sound of running water, made Hannah’s doubt grow. Doubt that she would never be a good mother, and that’s why she’s doing this.
“Do you want me to do this?” CJ asked as Hannah entered the bathroom. “No…..I want to” she blubbered. She stripped him. “I have to do this baby” she said, "I doubt that I would ever be a good mother” she cried, as she dunked their baby boy underwater.
The rain poured, and splashed into CJ’s face as he dug a small grave in their back yard. His tears mixed well with the rain. Done, he picked up a small black garbage bag which held their dead son and placed him in the ground. He began to dig the hole back in.
CJ entered their bedroom, dripping wet. “It’s done” he cringed at the thought of what they just did. “Good, because I’m ready” she kissed him, “are you?” She asked, “Yes” he choked on the word.
She reached into the bedside draw and pulled out a gun, and handed it to her husband. He bought the gun to his head and pulled the trigger, blood spattered against Hannah’s face. She grabbed the gun out of his hands and placed it to her head as well, and pulled the trigger.
Blood spattered against a picture of the two, they looked happy and far from suicidal.
“That’s just wrong” Xander chucked the newspaper down on table in the centre of The Magic Box. He pointed at the story that possessed the front page; the title read ‘Married couple commits suicide, while baby remains Missing.”
“They return from the hospital with a newborn, and to celebrate that, they kill themselves and lose their baby” he couldn’t believe that they did this, he despised them.
“Mum, dad. Congratulations, you have a grandchild. Excuse me while I kill myself” he used an angry sarcastic tone.

Buffy came over to the table where Xander sat and peered at the front page of the newspaper he'd just thrown down. The title sent a shiver down her spine and Xander's reaction already told her it wouldn't be a nice story.
"Ugh. Well, we know who's not getting the Parent's of the Year award." Buffy screwed up her nose as she read the article. "Seems a bit strange though... maybe there's more to the story?" She looked at Xander pointedly, knowing he'd catch her drift. Usually strange things like this in Sunnydale meant demon work or something like that.
Buffy put a hand on Xander's shoulder for comfort. "Easy, Xan. We'll figure this out... something had to have done this... and we'll deal when we find it, okay?"

Faith walked into the magic box a slight scowl on her face. She didn't say anything, just walked up to Buffy and Xander. She glanced down at the table and then back at them. “I guess you guys saw the paper” Faith said throwing another copy she had been carrying down onto the table. “Sick isn't it?” Faith pulled up a chair and sat down, legs up. “So who’s ass do we gotta kick to fix this one” Faith asked both Buffy and Xander.
Faith knew this wasn’t just an ordinary crime in Sunnydale. She had learnt that the hard way, there was no ordinary crime in Sunnyhell!. All the evidence added to the supernatural.
Faith glanced around the room. “Where’s G and Red?......Do they know about this?” Faith was fairly certain that the redhead was gona find the news a bit hard to swallow.

Willow walked into the Magic Box and looked at the newspaper on the table, "Since when do you read the paper Xander." She joked and looked at the headline, her smile abruptly faded as she read the title and got a few sentences down the page. "Why have we got to deal with this?" She asked, she knew most crimes in sunnydale were demon or vampire related but this seemed a pretty normal case.

(i'm gonna assume this is at night..since I can't join the thread otherwise lol)
Angel slowly walked down the streets of Sunnydale, yet his steps were determined. He wasn't quite sure why he was here. Maybe he thought a visit to Sunnydale would help him.
Why in the world would it help him? Wouldn't this just make things worse? Seeing Buffy again? Going back to a place he said he'd stay far away from? Angel looked up and saw the Magic Box ahead, the place he'd heard from Wesley that they were now stationed.
He sighed heavily and slowly pressed on. He needed to do something. He kept seeing visions of Darla...everywhere. He had no idea why. It was driving him nuts and he had no idea what to do with himself. Everything in him wanted to find out where she is, find her....find her and what? Rekindle an old flame? Nothing with Angel and Darla together equaled anything good. Angel knew that. So he forced himself to return to a place that was the sight of his transformation. Transformation from this lost wandering eternal piece of filth into something purposeful. He felt that if he goes back to memories of what he had with Darla, all of that transformation would be wasted.
So Sunnydale was his impulsive...very impulsive first choice. He heard from the news that a series of strange events were happening there. Something about people killing themselves. He used that as an excuse to check out how Buffy was doing. It was stupid. He knew that. Something always was happening in Sunnydale. They were over a Hellmouth. But Angel rationalized in his head that this was different, that this was a series of similar consecutive events that were very much supernatural. He was sure they were supernatural. So he had to warn Buffy, simple as that.
Of course, he could've just did that over the phone.
He stopped.
This was stupid.
He stared at the Magic Box a few paces ahead and started to turn around. His friends back at home were completely worried about him, thinking that he fell off of the deep end. He didn't blame them. Come on, seeing Darla everywhere? The woman he killed years ago? It was insane. But something in his mind didn't agree. He sighed heavily.
Well, he was there now. Might as well make his entrance. Maybe it would help him in some strange way. Angel started back towards the Magic Box and stood there by the door where they couldn't see them, listening to their conversation through the door. They were talking about the killings.
Angel sighed again and opened the door, seeing the Scoobie Gang together.
He still had no idea what he was doing here.
He gazed around the place, trying to conjure up something to say.
Oookay. This is awkward.
"...because it's supernatural. Too many similar incidents." He started by answering Willow's question.
Well thats a start...I guess.
"Hi," He added uneasily.

Buffy raised an eyebrow at Willow's question. "Remember where we are? Good ol' demon-infested Sunnydale... they should really put that on the welcome sign." She shook her head, that would certainly keep more people out and from falling victim to these demons and vampires that lived in and under the town.
"But no, something definitely isn't right here. I mean, look at this," She pointed to the article, "they sounded happy and normal and happy people just don't do this..." She stopped to think for a moment then looked around at the group. "Is this the first time this sort of thing has happened? Maybe we should look..."
The sound of the door opening stopped her and she looked up to see who it was. "Angel," Buffy said quietly and smiled, realising too late that it would look awkward. "I take it you've heard then."

"Why do we even have to investigate this?" He said as Buffy trailed off, he didn't yet realise why she stopped, "not everything that happens is supernatural.....This could be...."
"Angel" Buffy said quietly and smiled.
"No, as much as I liked that to be true, I believe it's...." He trailed off when Buffy began to talk to someone over by the door. He hadn't heard Angel enter, or hear him answer Willow's question.
"Oh....Angel. Hi" he sighed.

Faith listened to the scoobies and nodded along with what Buffy was saying. “B’s right...looks way too fishy to be an ordinary crime”. Faith didn't know a' lot about happy loving families, but she did know that this wasn't one of them. It seemed like that movie, Amityville horror.
Faith was about to agree with Buffy, when she noticed Buffy’s gaze at the door. She followed it and smiled. “Hey Fang.....” Faith got up out of her seat and made her way over to him. “Long time no see” Faith held out her hand, allowing him to shake it or whatever. She was still uncomfortable with hugs.
“You came just on time aint that right B?” Faith said going back to sit down. Faith just smirked as she looked between Buffy and Angel. This just got a whole lot more interesting.

The first person to address him was Buffy. She smiled at him. Okay, he thought, bringing himself fully into the building. Good start.
"Yeah." He said uneasily to her. He shook Faith's hand when she offered it. He acknowledged Xander and Willow, nodding towards their greetings and addressing them when he said, "I did."
He paused and then attempted to explain further, digging his hands in his black leather jacket. "Whatever is happening here...it's a silent killer. Powerful mysticism. I, uh...wanted to make sure you all didn't take it lightly. You might need the extra help in order to fight whatever is doing this. Wes says it's most likely one of the Old Ones." His voice was serious but inside he was telling himself how *not* a good liar he was. He hoped Buffy didn't pick up on it.

Buffy tore her eyes away from Angel to glance at Faith. "I'm glad someone is with me here... again this is Sunnydale... how can we not question the supernatural?"
She then watched as Faith moved towards where Angel stood, not sure what her intentions were. She was ready to move if Faith sprung a surprise attack or something, but it turned out the other Slayer was only greeting Angel. Buffy sighed mentally, still not able to comprehend that Faith had changed. It was just that Buffy couldn't help but remember all the bad times Faith had put them through and what she'd become. Hopefully, she could learn to trust Faith again... only time would tell.
Then when Angel began to speak, Buffy couldn't help but smirk at Xander. "See? Sunnydale... not Normal Town."

"Could of fooled me" Xander joked at Buffy's remark about Sunnydale not being a normal town. Apart from the vampires, demon and evil foes, Sunnydale was like any normal town, Xander thought. Oh who am I kidding!
"The more the merrier" Xander said and turned in Angel's direction, "we could have help with the research" he smirked.
"So what exactly are we researching? All we know is that this is supernatural, we don't know what kind of demon it is and what made the couple kill themselves, and we have no idea where the baby is, so?" He stopped, waiting for someone to answer his question.

"How do we know its nor normal? I mean they could have had Bi Polar or something." Said Willow but her voice faltered at the end of the sentence, she knew it was more likely to be because of demons. She looked at Buffy, then angel, then back to the newspaper, "So what are going to do then?" She askedm sighing with resignation, I get so sick of this. She thought Why can't things be normal in a murder occassionally?

Faith sat on the chair and leaned back bored of the conversation. She wondered when exactly they would get used to Sunnydale being demon central. You would of thought that a couple of years of demon killing it would of sunk in. Faith got up and went to the shelves. She picked up a handfull of books and set them down infront of Willow, Xander and Buffy. "Ok start crackin' " Faith said casually, as she sat back down.
'' The old ones or whatever they are should be somewhere in books right?' Faith asked Angel. She wasnt all that good in demon history. 'Not to self: Get Giles to teach you more on the baddies'.
Faith looked at Buffy. "Should we ask around town.....maybe this has happend somewhere else too?" Faith said, not entirely sure what to do.

"Oh fun" Xander said sarcastically, "research on a Friday night, not like I have anything else better to do" he gazed around at his current location, if he did have something better to do, he wouldn't be here. "Ok maybe I don't" he reached in to the pile of books, and flipped open the first one he grabbed.
Gile's stepped forward. "Xander, that book won't help" he grabbed the book away from Xander before adding, "that book is used to increase sexual pleasure in the bedroom by magick" he walked away embarrassed.
"Remind me to buy that book later" he said as he reached forward and grabbed another one. This would be so much easier, if I knew what I was looking for Xander thought.
A man, whose face was concealed by the poorly lit night and was wearing expensive suit walked up the pathway of the Alvin's resident, and up to the door. He didn't bother knocking, entered their house and locked the door after him.
Inside wasn't lit either, but he made his way up the stairs with ease. He made his way to the main bedroom, the bed still brandishing blood stains. No one seemed to bother to clean this up after the death of Alvin's.
He flicked on the light, which revealed his face. He looked like a normal human. The man was young, no older then thirty, his short brown hair combed like he was ready for a meeting. He was definately a polotical type, or maybe a lawyer, someone that could easily pay their way out of drug charges. The only abnormal thing was that his eyes were red, worse then bloodshot.
His eyes scanned the room as a smile began to spread across his face, obviously happy with his handy work.
He exited the bedroom and walked down the stairs and into the backyard, his expensive leather shoes slushed in the mud as he walked over to the baby's grave. He began to dig at it with his fingers, until he came across the baby.
"Freeze! And put your hands on your head!" An armed police officer had made himself known, aiming a gun and a torch the demons direction.
The demon, stood up and faced the officer. "I said freeze!" The cop warned him. Another smile spread across his face, as his body began to tremble and his clothes and skin tore off and fell to the ground, leaving a demon with black-green skin, that was oozing with slime. It's face was long, like a horses, it's teeth were razor and pointed in different directions.
"OH GOD!" The officer screamed, as the demon pounced on him, a glow emanated from the demon and forced its way into the officer filling him with self doubt.
Afterward the demon stood up, morphed into it's human form picked up the dead baby, and walked away. Leaving the officer there on the ground, not quite knowing what just happened.

Angel listened intently to everyone's theories quietly, brooding in his mind where else they could search. He thought everyone's ideas could possibly be a good start. But they needed to hurry. Demon entities who thrived off of other people in that way usually moved fast.
At least this was taking his mind off of Darla. That was definitely a good thing.
"Try police reports. See if they can tell us something about the incidents that the news didn't talk about." Angel interjected.
