Character’s name: David Lawrence Dickenson, but he goes by Luke, his favorite book in the Bible (you know vamps can't have last names lol)
Side: (Good or Evil) Evil
Sexuality: Straight
Age: 177, but he looks around 29
Species: (Vampire, Slayer, Witch, Werewolf) Vampire
Powers: All of the powers of a very experienced vampire who has lived a very long life. He's pretty handy with spells too (just shy of a watcher's ability). Persuasion, however, is his biggest ability, and, what he believes, is the power of God on his side.
Appearance:
Luke usually sports long black hair, but he doesn't mind playing with his looks. Sometimes it's a bit wavy, sometimes extremely long and bone straight, sometimes in long braids, sometimes cut short with highlights. He also has a very athletic, toned build. As far as clothing, he likes black. He wears a lot of modern, rock-star-ish styles--dark jeans, jackets, leather, dark graphic t-shirts. He makes sure to have an edgy look. He also loves jewelry and wears a lot of it--watches, bracelets, rings, and necklaces. Every one has a story or meaning to them. Most notably, in his travels, he met with a gypsy who enchanted two necklaces with several cross pendants for him, so that they would not burn any vampire. This, of course, was after he tortured the gypsy for the request. He wears those necklaces often. Other than this, he has large intense eyes, which are often emphasized with eyeliner, furthering his edgy rock star look.
Height/Weight: 5'10/ 164
Hair: dark brown but mostly dyed black
Eyes: Amber
Unique/Exotic Features:
He has a large tattoo on his upper back of a gothic-esque rose of thorns with the letters "LS" in its center, standing for "Lancea Sanctum".
Luke at his best
Personality: (2 paragraph)
His most noticeable and predominate personality trait is his complete devotion to the Lancea Sanctum covenant, and his skewed beliefs on how to live life as a vampire. He tries to get people to see things his way but this gives him drive and purpose to everything he does. With this belief system and his environment growing up, he has a twisted sense of justice and equality. It all makes complete sense to him, however, and that's all that matters. Also because of his beliefs, he is fearless and bold, because he does not invest so much in the body and conserving it. He just likes to have fun and enjoy his vampire instincts. If that leads him to death, so be it. Because of this, he does not mind pain, and even sometimes views it as discipline. He is invested, rather, in both life and death--which makes him purposeful, and his life's meaning as a vampire is amplified. He wants to soak up everything eternity has to offer--it is his way of worship.
Because he is invested in getting people to see things his way, he is very intelligent and philosophical, often looking at his vampire existence from a 'big picture' perspective. Many people think he's crazy but he could care less. Because of this out-of-the-box way of thinking, he can come off as extremely mysterious.
He is very much self indulgent, however. He is very much mindful of his appearance. His way, of course, is usually the only way. This makes him judgmental but also very independent. He is also very lustful because he views sex as a spiritual entity, not just for the physical uplift. He uses his looks to lure humans or vampires, and seduce them into his beliefs as well.
His methods of killing is often very much torture-based. He wants to teach his victims a lesson about themselves or God before he sends them to their maker. It's never just about the blood for him.
Luke is also a frequent traveler. He likes to see what God has to offer in different lands and what he can learn. Even after nearly 200 years, he still doesn't think he's seen everything.
Some of his likes: God/worshiping, the beast within every vampire, being a vampire-every sensation of it, sex, torture, converting people, pain (as a discipline), traveling, cards (Poker, Vegas games)--the game allows him to converse with people strategically, bringing out the beast in other vampires, music (Rock, metal)
Some of his dislikes: Fear, mental restraint, vampire Satan worshipers, injustice in a very warped & twisted sense, vampires who can't accept the beast within them, people who don't see things his way, feeling as if he's upset God
History: (2 paragraphs, just a general background)
(I apologize for the length of this)
Born in around 1832, he was raised in a plantation home with his sister, Jasmine. His father was a christian preacher who forced Luke to be an advocate of a religion he was not all that fond of. He would go through the motions of his Christian church but never was quite invested in it due to his father's constant hypocrisy.
Luke never was one to accept slavery, and befriended one of the slaves, named Timothy. As a teenager, his father schooled him on the Bible and eventually he taught these teachings to Timothy, who was about 10, and subsequently taught him to read. Timothy already seemed to have an intuitive sense of the Bible and Luke was surprised at his assessment of some issues about the soul and the spirit. Particularly, his claim that not everyone has one. That he's heard tales passed down of creatures that don't. He wanted to find one for himself one day. Timothy never told him why.
Eventually, Luke's sister found out he was teaching Timothy to read and threatened to tell. Luke knew that if his father found out, he would be disowned or worse. But the next day, his sister was found dead, due to loss of blood. His father took the slaves that he didn't particularly like, about 4 or 5, and hung them for this crime, without any reasonable suspicion. Luke despised him for this. Within all this ruckus, Timothy ran away.
Luke continued to train with his father and became assistant pastor at his church. He stayed that way until his late twenties, doing it grudgingly. He felt he needed to continue his family legacy of being God-fearing men, and he did not want to lose the respect of his father, no matter how much he despised him.
Until one day while he was praying, he saw Timothy, still looking ten years old. He thought Timothy had long been killed. He thought he was a ghost, and in a way he was right. Timothy explained that he found that person without a soul. He said he wanted to find him because he thought he could fit in better with the rest of the world. His parents had been hung, he was bound to slavery for eternity, but when Luke had taught him the bible, he identified with it, and it scared him. He didn't want to because he knew wouldn't survive if he did. He said he found new religion. A new rebirth. He wanted to show Luke.
Luke, not fully invested completely in his own religion, took Timothy's offer. It was then that kid turned Luke into a vampire.Once he did, Luke really discovered the glory of God in the power of being a vampire, the power of resurrection. Timothy told him the beliefs of the religion he followed, Lancea Sanctum. They believe that vampires were created all in God's plan, to show the true fallen and sinful state of the world, to be the predators that they are. They are meant to feed on humans as a form of God's wrath. Therefore, they must embrace the beast that is inside them. It is a gift, a blessing. They must hone it. For Longinus, who pierced Jesus in his side while he was crucified, swallowed Jesus' blood and became the first vampire, something the Bible does not tell people.
Longinus made many scriptures that have circled the globe, and has called vampires to fulfill the anointment of their calling. Such scriptures seem only a myth now a days, but Luke took these teaching and held them close, and will always, for eternity. After being turned, he circled the globe learning more about the religion and more about himself as vampire. He massacred, he fraught, he lived in death. It is what he continues to do to this day.

Strengths:
He's a great fighter, for throughout his travels he's met with many, has seen much, and has been through plenty. He was able to learn martial arts, a very mental and spiritual skill of fighting that he admired. He's been able to hone it for many years now.
He knows how to get under people's skin, and make them look inwards, making them emotionally frazzled. He can be very persuasive in that way and also very sadistic.
He is very mentally focused and purposeful, which makes him less impulsive and more strategic than most.
He's fearless. Bold.
Weaknesses:
His ways of persuasion can often piss people off. He likes to get too personal, and is not afraid to do it. And if he pisses off the wrong person...who knows what will happen.
He's not afraid to get in trouble. His loyal faith can sometimes be blind faith.
If he is feeling like he's not worthy of God's grace, he has a complete mental shut down. His focus is amplified to a point of irrationality.

Sunnydale. What a beautiful town. Dark, ruthless. Full of sin and death. The snapshot of a fallen world. It was why he was called here. Luke was always the one to wander, since he never felt comfortable in one place for long periods of time. Beforehand, he stayed in LA for a night or two and headed to Vegas, a place he visited often. Poker was his game.
He ditched his motorcycle when he came to the bar that night in Vegas, wanting to take in the feel of the streets. Had a view drinks, enjoyed the company there, and had a great conversation with the bartender. Oh, and he took a woman, a beautiful and lovely woman, in an alleyway to kill her. It was a very beautiful and aesthetic kill though. Her prayers to God touched him.
As satisfying as his adventures were, knowing that the Hellmouth wasn't far away intrigued him. Now, walking the streets of Sunnydale and taking in the music of it's smothering night, it was not as if he was looking for some helpless soul roaming in the streets. He picked and chose who he felt God called him to. He was disgusted by some of his kind only grabbing drunkards. It was spineless. But as he was walking down the street, his attention landed on a young girl and he gave a friendly smile to her.
"Hey I need to find where the closest bar is, do you know?"
"Sure. I'll walk you there." Luke said. The woman was attractive, there was no question. She smiled at him, moving a strand of blond hair out of her eyes.
"Thanks, I appreciate it. It can be dangerous here out at night."
Luke put an arm around her waist. "It's true," he responded. The girl did not seem to mind his touch. "Yet, it's still beautiful isn't it?"
She nodded. "Definitely,"
"You ever wonder who made such a beautiful sky?" he said looking up. "Who could possibly make such a masterpiece of light?"
"Well, you know what they say. God made the stars and knows every one of them by name." She laughed incredulously.
Luke looked down at her. "You don't think so?"
"Na," She said. "Not the one to believe in God. My life is already in shambles, why do you think I'm going to the bar?"
She laughed a bit.
"No, that's not where you're going. You have no idea where you're going. That's unfortunate." Luke said mysteriously.
THe girl paused. "What?"
Suddenly, Luke pushed her into an alley way and morphed. Holding her jaw and mouth, and pressing her head against the brick, he watched her struggle in vain to scream or move.
"I pray the Lord shows you mercy. You are just like all the rest of them. Walking aimlessly throughout your short lives and watching it all pass you by. No wonder you're lost. No wonder you don't know where you're going."
The girl whimpered as tears fell down her face.
"Do you fear evil?" he asked her.
She nodded anxiously and honestly.
Luke smiled through his fangs. "Of course you do," He bit into her neck, savoring the taste of her blood. The precious blood.
