Xander gave up on trying to find a way out and collapsed at the bottom of the stairs. "This is useless!" He sighed, rubbing his temples to relax himself. "We can't do anything...Well without a witch we can't do anything, and unfortunately we're fresh out of them."
"No" Angel said out loud".
"What do you mean no? Do you see any witches around here?" Xander eyed Angel suspicously as he came over to the stairs and collapsed down near him, repeating the word "no".
Xander jumped up, startled. Something was happening to him, and he knew that something wasn't good. His anxiety intensified as Angel struggled to call out to Buffy.
"Buffy! What's happening to him?" Xander yelled, knowing that what was to come tonight, would be a night that would be hard to forget...If he lasts the night.

Buffy watched Angel with wide, disbelieving and frightened eyes. The only thing that could affect Angel like this was... No, it couldn't be. It must be something else... it had to be. Buffy was too absorbed in Angel to focus on what Xander was saying, but she couldn't ignore his yell about the same thing she was worried about.
She was frozen in place. She just couldn't will herself to move towards him. His saying her name that way was sending chills up her spine. His tone held... warning. And there was only one thing that would make him this way.
"Xander, we have to get out of here..." Buffy said in a very low voice, still not taking his eyes off Angel's form. "NOW!" Her suddenly loud voice shook the windows, startling even herself. But she still couldn't move, her heart was racing so fast she wondered for a moment if it would burst out of her chest. No... she'd already had this happen to her once... could she survive this again?

Angelus opened his eyes.
Wow.
He recognized he was in the library. The old Sunnydale library.
Free.
He was finally free.
It's about time.
He wondered how he got here. Was it the spell?
He heard the slayer's voice. Hmm. Well, as he always said: torture, eat, and ask questions later.
Listen to that panic. Poor girl. Her boyfriend is gone. Now, what should I do about that? Hmm.
It would be best to put her out of her misery.
Angelus laid there repressing a laugh. He missed having this kind of fun. But first, its always best to play with the food.
Makes them taste all the sweeter.
Angelus stood up and cracked his neck. "Now? Really? Come on. I don't think we've let out all our feelings yet." He turned around with a grin on his face. "I mean, they say letting out all of that pent up aggression is healthy for you. Plus, I got to admit, pretty entertaining. Gets the blood boiling." His dark eyes challenged Buffy, without moving an inch.
This was going to be fun.

Xander inched back, closer to Buffy as Angel laid there in agony. He ignore Buffy's orders and continued inching back. He knew what was happening....
"Angel?" Xander forced it out
When he began to speak, he knew it wasn't Angel anymore. "Angelus" he said as he hid behind Buffy. He began tugging on her shirt, trying to make her move but she seemed frozen to that place. "Buffy, now would be a good time to run...Or kill him, anyone is good for me as long as we stay alive."
"Didn't your mother teach you never to play with your food" Xander joked, trying to make light of the situation that were in.

Angelus' eyes darted to Xander and his frivolous bantering made him grin.
He snickered a bit. He took a few casual and relaxed steps towards him, rubbing his thumb and ring finger together at his sides. He was just too restless and he was inching to make a move.
But no, no, no.
He stopped, still not in harms way of Xander.
Patience, Angelus. Patience. The fun is in what happens before the kill.
Besides, he didn't want to miss what the Slayer would do.
"Yeah," Angelus replied to Xander. "Then I killed her. And..." He glanced at the air, pretending to remember, before looking back at Xander again. "...she was fun to play with. Gotta hurt when your last thoughts are of how your son just ripped open your throat." He shrugged. "What can I say? I was a pretty rebellious young man," He said with sarcastic exaggeration in his tone. "Tell you what though. I'd love to hear more about what your mommy taught you. And who knows, maybe I'll just torture her to death instead of ripping her throat."
He gazed at him, eyes dark, smirk cunning. "Old habits."

That grin on Angel's face made Buffy shiver. It was a frightening sight and she couldn't help but remember the last time she'd seen it...
"No... how..." Buffy still couldn't move, still couldn't grasp this. Not again. "What happy moment did I miss?" Frowning, she remembered last time had been caused by one happy moment. She couldn't recall him being happy before this had happened...
She didn't realise Xander had hidden behind her until she felt the tug on her shirt. She was about to reply to Xander's words when Angel began to talk again. No, it wasn't Angel anymore... Buffy had to remind herself. It wasn't the same man, don't forget that.
Buffy fixed her eyes with his, not willing to show how much this upset her. She knew that would only egg Angelus on. "Don't listen to him, Xander. You know he's only trying to anger you..." Even though she was talking to Xander, she never once took her eyes off Angelus.

Angelus grinned at Buffy's confusion. This couldn't be any more...well, perfect.
"Whatcha miss?" He snickered and then frowned mockingly,"Honey... its not just happiness that can bring out the worst someone." The term of endearment was drenched in mockery. He shook his head when Buffy warned Xander of Angelus' plot to "anger" him.
"Not trying," Angelus said, his voice deep and mysterious, eyes piercing through Buffy with mad sadism, expressed in his grin. "Someone here put on the mojo. See where magic gets a person? Willow was right to storm out of here...because, well, lets face it. She's just a walking talking time bomb isn't she? I mean who knows, she's probably the one who did the spell. Wouldn't that be an interesting twist of events?"
He stepped forward again, one threatening step forward. "What's the matter, Buffy? Heh, don't let me stop you." He looked at her, challenging her. Another step forward and he threw his arms out dramatically.
"Come on! Don't tell me I missed on the fun, I just got here!" He then placed his arms behind his back, lowering his voice again. "Come on Buffy. Baby. Where's that good old slayer aggression? All that teenage angst? I mean I just love it, honestly. I mean, driving your friends away because you wanted to test the waters of being Buffy the Bitch....brilliant plan. I really liked that one. And I'm sure Xander appreciated you playing with his fragile emotions like that, pretending that he mattered...then, later we'll just pretend that everything is all better. So don't worry,"
He gave a fake sincere expression. "All will be forgiven." His expression broke down into a sadistic grin. His voice low and threatening, he continued, "What's wrong, Buff? Isn't this the part where you kill me? Since your boyfriend has gotten all out of control?"
Another step and he was about a foot away from her. "Oh, I forgot. You can't. All that fiery passion in you. Man, I just love it. But don't worry. That will be forgiven too. Especially when all your friends are dead." He glared at Xander behind her, then back at Buffy.
"Waiting."

Xander came out from behind Buffy, forgetting about the danger in front of him. "You weren't there?" He asked, concerning Angel loosing his soul. "So I see that Angel goes solo. Who knew you could give perfect happiness to yourself." He joked in the face of danger. When he realised that he was no longer cowering behind Buffy, he ran back behind her.
"Buffy don't listen to him.....He's only doing to this to weaken you." He was trying to conteract the words Angelus was saying, to keep her strong. "Buffy fight him!" He ordered. "Buffy......" his words trailed off when he heard him say that Buffy doesn't think I mattered.
"Hey buddy, I matter. And Buffy knows that" his words sounded believable, even though he didn't believe it. "Yeah, do what he says and kill him!" He urged. "Before he kills me, Willow and Giles!"
"You're going to have to wait a little bit longer"
(OOC- Speaking of Giles, where is he? Earlier he was in the room, so what should we godmod him?)

Angelus smiled broadly at Xander when he stepped out to be brave. Standing up for himself, so nice, so uncharacteristic. Tragic, really, though. Especially when he knows what's going to happen to him.
Angelus clapped for him. That was just so...honorable. "Wow! Xander! You finally grew a pair, good for you." He grinned and lowered his voice. "Keep up that act and you might just be recognizable... after I kill you."
He gasped in mock shock and turned to Buffy. "Yes, Buff you heard right. Angel's being mean, isn't he? Well, what can I say? I learned from the best, didn't I?" He snickered. "And hell, if I'm waiting this long, I might as well have a snack," He morphed, smile revealing his long fangs. He ran his tongue over them.
"I'm sure Xander wouldn't mind. And heck, no one's gonna miss him, right Buff?"

Buffy continued to glare at Angel, still trying to show him that he wasn't fazing her. That wouldn't do any good for anyone. "Well, sweetheart," Buffy replied with the same tone he used, "how about you fill us in then? Might be handy for when I kill you."
"Because, technically, last time I didn't kill you... I killed Angel. So that would make it your turn." It hurt to say that out loud, but she had to get past that to be strong now. Then Angelus answered her first question about how it happened and she shook her head. "You know that won't work... trying to turn us against each other. We're not stupid, you know... unlike some." She raised an eyebrow at him, clearly indicating she was referring to him.
Buffy tensed when Angelus started advancing towards her and she was positive that he'd be able to smell her sudden fear. She tried to ignore all the words he was saying, knowing it was to stir her up... that was what he wanted and she'd be damned if she'd give it to him. However, the last part she couldn't ignore.
"I will kill you and it will be before you kill anyone..." Buffy made her voice as threatening as she could, not sure if it was working though. She heard what Xander said and she nodded once, confirming she knew what Angelus was doing.
Then suddenly he turned into his true self and Buffy whipped out a stake before she could even think about it. "He's not on the menu, so you can just forget it... but hey, know what is? This nice, juicy stake... and it's even ready for you... whenever you want it."
However, she didn't move towards him. That wouldn't be smart as it would leave Xander alone. She already knew Angelus liked to torment her, so making sure Xander and the others stayed safe would be her main goal. But she was also ready if he decided to suddenly attack her as she raised the stake in line with Angelus' chest.
Buffy didn't move her eyes off Angelus and her heartbeat suddenly picked up. Oh how she hoped this would all turn out okay...

Angelus snickered again through his fangs, gazing at the stake before him. He could smell her fear from where he stood. Wow, he couldn't ask for anything better. He expected her to be shaken up a bit, but this girl was really shaking in her heels. And Xander, well, he was just fresh meat. All he could hear in the room was just blood racing, racing, racing. The best sound in the world. He let her threat hang in the air for a moment, a grin on his face.
"Wait..." He said, looking at Buffy. "What was that? Is...is that your heartbeat racing? Huh?" He looked at her stake and then back at her, his sadistic grin returning. "I don't know...maybe it's just me but, I got a feeling that if you really wanted to use that, I'd be dust. Honestly, I'm really disappointed in you Buffy. You're not on top of things like you used to be. Did you stop working out in the gym? Maybe you were better off doing the cheerleader gig. Gotta admit, you looked kinky in that little yellow skirt." He laughed.
"That aside, let's cut to the chase here." He started taking casual paces towards the broken table and ran his fingers along the edge. "We have an honest relationship, don't we Buff? And I appreciate that. But you know what I really can't stand about, you know, us?" He turned to her and with exaggerated emotion he said, "You don't even have the decency to kill me anymore." He shook his head and moved towards them again.
"You can't kill me Buffy." He stated, his voice low. "That's okay. I won't kill you either...yet." He laughed. "I'm not through with you. We're going to have fun, you and I. And when I say 'we', well, I really mean me." He suddenly wondered what would happen if he impaled Xander in the broken wood from the table. That would be interesting, he hadn't done an impalement in a while. He'd have to save that idea for later.
"So...I'll give you one more chance to show me you care, Buffy. Remember...I believe in you," He said with dripping sarcasm. He then charged at Buffy, moving into a kick that knocked the stake out of her hand. He shoved her out of the way, hard enough to send her a few feet, to get to Xander. He grabbed Xander by the arms, holding him in front of him.
"You matter, Xander," Angelus hissed in his ear. "Just not for long," He growled and jabbed his fangs in Xander's neck.

About time, Xander thought, when Buffy bought out her stake. He thought he this was all going to be over quick, unfortunately Angelus insisted on rambling on. Stupid bad guys, he thought, thinking their the big bad cause they can hurt us with words.
"Buffy, you see that wooden thing in your hand...Yeah ram that into his heart!" He urged her on. "Don't listen to him, you can kill him....Before he kills us!" His last word droped into a terrified wine.
Xander listened to the rest of what Angelus was saying, his mind racing with one thought; what was he up to. None of what Angelus was saying made sense to him. Care? What did he mean by that. What was there to care about? He guessed that only Buffy and Angelus would know. He'd have to ask her about that later....If later came.
Xander froze as Angelus kicked the stake out of Buffy's grasp and pushed her away. He stared into Angelus' eyes as he grabbed Xander's arm and said; "You matter, Xander." Angelus' eyes were dark, cold, evil....Empty. Angel was definately gone, or just buried so far back in there.
Xander was too horified to scream, as Angelus' fangs peirced his skin. He felt the blood running out of him as he drifted to near unconciousness. His eyes flicked over to Buffy's direction. His eyes read, "it's ok, its not your fault".

Buffy was beginning to tremble, the stake in her hand showing that fact. She closed her eyes for a moment, trying to bring back her focus. Angelus' words rang through her head over and over. No, she couldn't let him get to her. She couldn't and she wouldn't.
Reopening her eyes, Buffy brought the stake up and was about to move closer to the vampire, when suddenly he attacked her. The stake went flying in the opposite direction as her but even if it was close, she wouldn't have grabbed it... for what she knew next froze her. "No... NO!" Buffy cried out, sitting up on her knees. The thing she'd always feared to see... a vampire killing one of her best friends... was right in front of her. Well, she'd be damned if said vampire got away with it.
Buffy sprang up, ignoring the tears in her eyes that had formed seeing Angelus biting Xander. She raced towards Angelus, hitting him so hard in the face that Xander was knocked out of Angelus' grasp. She'd seen the look in Xander's eye but she ignored it. He was wrong... this was her fault. She was the one who'd insisted Angel had changed after coming back from Hell. She was the one who lied to everyone for him. Now, she had to face the consequences.
Grabbing her stake and launching herself to Angelus in a flash, she aimed it at his heart. Her vision was tinged red, she was so angry. At herself and at Angelus.
"Be man enough to leave others out of this. We both know it's me you want revenge on, why play stupid, pathetic games instead of just doing the job? Be a man, Angelus... for once." She hissed the words, feeling a rage she'd never felt before.

The swallows of warm blood, the taste on his tongue, the way it flowed down his throat, was a long time coming. It did something to his body that he hadn't felt in a while, being locked away for so long. His grip tightened hard on Xander, becoming enthralled of the sensations going down his body. The warmed of that liquid, the grasping of fear and death all in his hands in one moment. He nearly forgot all about Buffy until she whacked him in the head, forcing him to let Xander fall.
He took a moment to recover, starting to feel the energy, the high, from Xander's blood. He then turned around towards Buffy laughing. "There's my girl!" He grinned removing the access blood from his fangs with his tongue. He saw the angry blond coming at him with ...oh surprising....with the stake. Buffy was really getting predictable. Heh, slayers. They were all the same.
"Revenge?" Angelus said, incredulously. "Why would you--" Before she could make a stab at his chest, Angelus positioned himself to catch Buffy by the wrist before she could do so. He promptly twisted the wrist with the stake inward, and he could hear *something* cracking as result. "--ever think this was about revenge, Buff?" He said sadistically through his fangs, lips still somewhat stained with Xander's blood. "No, with you, it's simple...plain...untainted....entertainment. Besides, the whole revenge thing? Really isn't my style." Angelus flung her to the ground and then bolted to the stairs of the library. He stopped at the base.
"Oh and give the Harris family my condolences. He was a nice kid. Really." He said sarcastically. He knew he didn't kill Xander, but there was always that chance he wouldn't survive the blood loss, and that was always fun. Besides, why make Buffy believe he was alive anyway?
(I'm gonna try to make an escape so i can meet up with Spike later on, but still do ur best to stop me lol)

Xander hit the ground hard, it would have hurt if he wasn't dying. The blood on his neck was warm, unlike his entire body. His body began to tremble, he was cold and he was dying. He laid there, unable to move, even opening his eyes took to much effort.
Who would have guess, that the slayer's boyfriend kill her best friend, he thought. He knew that Buffy would be blaming herself for his death. If there was anything he could do to reassure that it wasn't his fault, he'd be doing it.
Names ands memories ran through his mind. Names of people that he wouldn't see again and memories of his childhood, that would be forgotten when he's gone.
Buffy's and Angelus' voices were a faint mummur to him. Everytime he opened his eyes a different scene was playing in front of him, he obviously had fallen unconcious a few times.
"Buffy?" Xander tried his hardest to moan her name, to tell her that he was still alive....For now.
