Alaki’s laughter caught in her throat when he said that he got his soul from gypsies. Her eyes narrowed and she studied him closely. Thelma had described the vampire who had eaten Ranina and this one looked almost exactly like him: tall with black hair and all-consuming dark eyes. Slowly Alaki took a step back, still watching the vampire with icy blue eyes.
Then he said his name, and she knew.
“You!” Alaki hissed. “You killed Ranina! You’re the vampire who killed my cousin. I’m glad old Thelma’s curse has brought you pain and misery. You deserve it. And I’m glad I gave her the spell that restored your soul!”

He watches as the red head witch wonder back down there with her friends. As where he was standing he was still close enough to hear Angel and Alaki talk. He lifted one of his deep blond brows in a bit of interest when she mentioned the tall dark male was a vampire. Now he began to wonder if this was a Dark Heaven Vampire one of his kind, even though he doesn’t know Angel is not at all a vampire of the Breed, like Tegan. He is also still very confused about this soul thing and what the female is talking about but he doesn’t move from his spot, while he watches the humans for a moment when she called out Vampire toward the one that calls himself Angel. Though the humans seem to busy in their own dealings at the party he turns his green gazes back on Angel and the female and continues to listen to them.

Buffy smiled shyly up at her companion after he kissed her hand. It was a nice change to the high school boys she'd dated, who all acted so immature and only thought about one thing. She supposed that was why she was drawn to Angel... he was older and wiser and was definitely not childish. Corlafka was the same, as far as she could tell, even though they'd just met. But his actions and speech practically gave that away instantly.
As they approach the table, Buffy was about to introduce her new friend but he got in there first. She watched the faces of her friends, wondering what they'd think.
In fact, she was so deeply fascinated that she failed to spot the change of attitude of Angel's friend. She'd been having such a good time with Corlafka that she realised she hadn't even glanced their way for a while. Well, that was best, she supposed.
"Oh, you weren't too bad yourself." Buffy teased when he said the dance was wonderful. But, all jokes aside, she couldn't argue that it was a lovely moment.

Blinking and looking up at Corlafka, Willow smiled a litte "Hi...yeah, I'm Willow and this 'too quiet even for him' guy is Xander..." Looking at Xander, she furrowed her eyebrows wondering what was going on with him but shrugged. Looking back at Buffy, she smiled a little "It looked like you had fun out there...and you-know-who over there was watching you too..." Smiling, she knew Buffy would know she was talking about Angel.
Looking to Corlafka, she smiled "Come on and sit with us...we have plenty of open place.." Furrowing her eyebrows she looked around uncertainly. There it was again, that eerie sense of being watched. Looking over at Tegan, she watched him look at her briefly then saw him look over at Angel and Alaki.
Holding her hand up, she smiled a little "Hold that thought will you...Buffy, Corlafka, go ahead and sit, mingle..." Looking at Buffy she grinned a little with her knowing grin then leaned over to Xander and whispered to him "Don't ruin this for them..." Giving him a knowing look she smiled then stood up and walked away.
Walking past Alaki and Angel, she frowned as she heard what Alaki hissed at Angel but shook it off and made her way over to Tegan "Hi, my name is Willow..." Looking back at Alaki and Angel, she raised an eyebrow then leaned into Tegan "I don't know if you're from around here....but staring....not so polite." Standing back up, she smiled "Just a word of advice is all."

When Willow came up to him he looks down at her with his bright emerald eyes, then back to the pair that same to be arguing about souls and such. Then he looks down at her again, “I had not intended to stare, I could help but be impressed how well you stood up to that tall dark male there.” He said and nodded his head toward Angel. “No, I am not from here.” He said so matter of factly.
While standing there having a light conversation with Willow, one of the other humans at this place happened to of dropped their glass and broke. When that had happened, they had cut themselves with that little accident, they happened to of cut themselves on some of the glass. When the whiff of the fresh blood hit Tegan’s senses, his green eyes flickered a different color for a brief second. He looked away from her and then walked around Willow. “Excuse me Willow…,” he said in a flustered mood now and trying to conceal his fangs. After he stepped past her and within a blink of an eye he was gone. The person that got hurt by the drop of the glass was just a few steps in front of Willow, trying to clean up their mess, and do something about the small cut on their hand. The male she was just talking to was no longer inside of the Bronze.

Angel gazed over once more at Buffy jealousy perking up within. Alaki's voice piercing his ears causing his eyes to overt back to hers. He had taken steps to try and rectify the situation but it seemed the brunette was not having it. He wanted to walk away before anything happened and started to but then she began to tell him how much he deserved the pain and misery of having a soul and something changed.
The mix of emotions caused that one snippet of Angelus that was inside of him to perk up in defense. He started laughing darkly, "Oh a gypsy! How quaint. Do you want me to get down on my knees and beg for your forgiveness?" There was a sinister expression that held in his eyes as he took a step forward towering over Alaki, "I tried to apologize start off fresh but if you're going to wish more pain upon me I'm not interested. I'm already paying my penance." Then his expression went blank and he took a step back, turning he walked out of the Bronze and into the alleyway. He knew that it had been a mistake to do that. He really had nothing against the gypsies. He wished that he could take back what he had done to their clan. Pissing off another one had not been on his list of things to do.
Coming to the Bronze had definitely been a poor choice tonight, yet at least he had got to see Buffy, even though it was from a distance and she had ended up with someone else. Leaning against the side of the building he looked at night sky. He could feel Angelus restless within and while in the moment his inner demon had been useful he surpressed him now. He did not see his soul as a curse but a benefit. He was helping people now and for once felt that he was accomplishing something important. It did not lessen his pain, but Alaki had been right he deserved it.

Alaki was taken aback. She had expected him to be angry—what vampire wouldn’t be?—but she had expected him to attack her for being the reason he had his soul. Instead he was angrier that she wished him more suffering. Alaki listened to him as he yelled at her, and she heard him. He had tried to start afresh, do good. Angel was paying his penance.
She watched him march out of The Bronze, a virtual storm cloud brewing above his head. It wasn’t until he had exited the building that Alaki realized the strange emotion she was feeling twist her gut was guilt. Ranina, her dearly departed cousin had been all about forgiveness and second chances. Instantly she wanted to take back what she had said about him deserving the pain and misery. Angelus might have deserved all the punishments of hell but this souled version was a completely different vampire.
Alaki ran after Angel, catching up with him in the alleyway outside of The Bronze. She grabbed hold of his sleeve and turned him around. “Look,” she said meeting his smoldering dark eyes, “I didn’t realize you were trying to make amends. I’m sorry for what I said. I know I should have reserved judgment until I knew you better, and I'm working on that. Sorry. My name is Alaki, by the way. Alaki Carolina Istvosqi, but my friends call me Aly or Aly-cat.”

Listening to Tegan, Willow smiled "Oh...I see...yeah well..." Looking at Angel and Alaki, she sighed "He can be rather..." Cutting off there and seeing him get tense when another person dropped a glass and cut themself, she widened her eyes seeing him stand and rush toward the door. Wanting to slap herself in the forehead, she looked over at Buffy, Corlafka and Xander then looked around for Alaki and Angel but they were gone as well.
Of course, Tegan was a vampire. She saw the sign after the person cut their hands. Slipping outside before Buffy and the others could notice she was gone, she looked up and down the street. Seeing Angel and Alaki, Willow bit her lip then made her way around the corner of the Bronze "Tegan? It's okay...you can come out now."
It seemed that Willow should have been nervous but after having helped Buffy out so many times, she knew the signs of a vampire "Come on Tegan...really it's okay."

Just outside of the Bronze, sits a large SUV, on the other side of it, Willow can hear Tegan talking to someone. Relaying some information he found about what he learned of the male known as Angel, and a weird chat he had with a female, about the lost and return of a soul. Also finding it strange about how other humans know of vampires, or seemingly know them so well as if they are a book that came alive.
He says, “Roger.” To confirm his order and then climbs into the back seat of the SUV to dig through some of his bags for a camera so that he can catalog more information. Along with anything thing else to help his team understand what is going on in this town.

He smiles at Willow and nods when she left then he glances back at Xander before he looks back at Buffy. “I’ll be right back lovely lady.” He smiles and moves from the group to go and order a round of drinks and sandwiches on him for the groupies.
It doesn’t take long for four glasses to get filled and when the drinks came, he toke the drink tray himself then heads to the table again. When he gets to the table, he gives Buffy and Xander their drinks, while he sets Willows in her spot when she returns. He sits down beside Buffy and smiles, “soon some sandwiches be on the way, my treat.” He smiles again, and looks around the crowd a little. “By the way Buffy, what can you tell me of Sunnydale?” He looks back at her, “I know a little about the town through the college, but there seems so much more going on here then what they know.” He is only trying to male idol chit-chat, and since he hadn't been in town for long he hope he could fine someone else to let him know about it, even the darker side of it, that she had seen glimps of.

Buffy turned to Xander, also concerned of his lack of words. "Hey, Xan, lighten up. You're kind of quiet... not Xander-like at all." She punched him lightly on the shoulder to show she was kidding but she also couldn't help but wonder if her obsessing over Angel or dancing with this new guy bothered him. However, she couldn't ponder on that for too long because shortly after the introduction, Willow wandered off. Buffy watched her head towards Angel and his friend with puzzlement and also felt a little left out.
But since she had company with Corlafka, she didn't mope for long nor did she realise that Willow had in fact headed for another person. Yet again, that didn't last long because he then left for the bar. She sighed at being left alone with the quiet Xander and decided to check on Angel. Her heart skipped a beat when she noticed he and the girl were gone and tears sprung to her eyes out of nowhere. So, he'd left with her... it hurt more than ever to admit that to herself. She's never have a chance now.
Before she knew it, a drink was set in front of her and Corlafka was back. "Thanks." She said with a forced smile, not wanting her new companion to see how unsettled she was. "What? Oh, Sunnydale... yeah, the happiest place on Earth." She said sarcastically and teasingly, trying hard to get the image of the happy couple out of her head.
"Well, I guess the only way to sum up Sunnydale is the Hellmouth and all the lovely beings that come from it. Then again, I can't really complain because I wouldn't have a job or even be here if it wasn't for it... so I guess it's win for some, lose for others." Buffy stopped then and felt ashamed of her rambling. "So, uh... where do you come from? And what brings you here?"

Blinking and looking up and down the sidewalk, Willow furrowed her eyebrows then stopped as she heard Tegan's voice. Stopping around the corner of the night club, she looked around the corner, pressing her back to the wall. There he was...and it looked like he was talking into a..radio? In an SUV. Wait...something wasn't right here.
Seeing him hang up the receiver of the radio and fish through the bag, she stepped around the corner, looking every which way for Angel and Alaki but remembered what she was after. Looking back at Tegan, she made her way over to where he was "Okay...so what are you? Some sort of government vamp? Wow...I don't think Sunnydale's ever had one of those before."
Smiling and waiting for him to react, she shook her head "At ease soldier...yeah, I kinda guessed you were a vampire. Growing up here in Sunnydale...that kind of thing is hard to hide."

Tegan looked up when the red headed witch came near him, as he stuffed the camera and cell phone in one of his pockets. When she had got there to talk to him and he turned to face her, she could see his eyes are back to their normal emerald green and fangs are gone. He closes the car door and looks down at her as he crosses his arms over his chest. “I see, and how is it that a human knows such things, besides living in this unusual town? Along with it, what is it you think you know about vampires?”
He looks down at her from his near seven foot height. “Since you seem to know all about vampires, tell me all that you know about them.”

He was forced to turn around when she tugged at his sleeve. He noticed the SUV before his eyes met hers and he stood there listening to her apologize. It was clear that she meant the apology and he was willing to give her another chance. It was rare to find another vampire that drank animal blood and whose intentions were pure. He was curious as to how she had come to be this way.
"It's alright, we both made some snap judgements tonight." He said, his facial expression lightening a little from its normal brooding state. "So, what brought you to the Bronze?"
It was after the apology that he paid more notice to the SUV sitting just outside of the Bronze. He hadn't payed much attention to it until Willow had come outside and began to talk to the person within the vehicle. He kept aware of her while he spoke with Alaki because he felt obligated to make sure nothing happened to her if he was within her vicinity.

Xander stared at the Corlafka, unimpressed by the strangers appearance. He was yet another obstacle that stood in the way between him and Buffy. He sighed heavily when Buffy was asked to dance, and he was disappointed that she had accepted it.
With his jealously overwhelming him, he stared at the couple dancing on the middle of the dance floor. He gritted his teeth, and bit his bottom lip. He knew he wasn't going to say anything because at least Buffy was happy and her mind was finally off of Angel.
Xander reluctantly gave his hand to Corlafka when he offered to shake hands. "Yeah that's us, Xander and Willow," he said without any humour or sarcasm which was unlike Xander. Usually he would have added some joke or wit to the end of that sentence.
"Hmm?" He responded to Buffy's punch in the arm. "Oh sorry, I don't mean to be the party pooper. So I'll just sit here quietly and won't say anything," he said moping, resting his head on his hands. However, unfortunately Buffy didn't seem to notice as she went back talking to Corlafka.
