Buffy fidgeted with a bracelet that she was wearing, not able to look Angel in the eye. She knew Angel wasn't stupid... that he would work out why she was here with Spike. Then when he said he wanted to talk to Spike, she knew it was time to leave.
"No, it's okay... I'll go..." She was relieved to have a way out of this awkward situation. "Uh, I'll see you later, Spike... to continue our conversation... later." Buffy nodded to him, silently telling him to go along with that. "Have your vamp to vamp talk and I'll leave you guys to it." She attempted a smile as she tried to lighten the mood.
Without a second glance, she walked out into the night. However, she didn't go far. Curiousity was too strong for her to just leave altogether. Buffy leant against the wall just a little way from the door. Frowning to herself, she wondered why Angel had come all this way just to see Spike. Hopefully she was about to find out.

Angel opened his mouth, with a glare towards Spike. At this moment, he really hoped that he was a major part of this coming apocalypse so he'd have an excuse to kill him. But his attention was brought back to Buffy when she offered to leave. He was tempted to just let her go, but at the last minute, he said, "Buffy, wait..." But she was already gone.
He turned back to Spike, half glad that he could focus on the task at hand. "Wish I could say I'm sorry for messing up your plans Spike. But I'm not." He entered further into the crypt, running is fingers over the plain concrete-looking table. "Something tells me you've had other plans...regarding a certain apocalypse." He turned around to look at Spike again. "Care to share?"

The glare that Angel gave Spike seemed cold, dark. It sort of frightened him. He was going to try and make Buffy stay, because he didn't want to be alone with Angel.
"My plans? Don't worry about them. My plans were for a quiet night in front of the telly with a cold cup of blood" He smirked, "the slayer ruined my plans".
Spike gave Angel a confused when Angel wanted to talk to him. "Oh an apocolypse, like that is news around here. But regarding this one, what do you wanna know about it?" He asked, still confused why Angel thinks Spike knows something.

Angel turned to him, suddenly not in the mood for the 'playing dumb' game. His glare intensified with Spike's 'slayer' comment.
Funny, didn't seem like anything was 'ruined' from where I was standing, he thought.
He decided not to comment on it. He needed to stay focused. He was not here to get involved in Buffy's life...even if she seems to be having a lapse of judgment with Spike.
...well, maybe it wouldn't hurt to get a little involved.
...later.
Right now he had to keep focused. That was a harder task that he thought.
He shook his head. "I don't know, Spike. Little something about blocking out the sun...I'm sure you've heard of it. And since this is old news to you, you must know all about it." He started approaching him. "So listen, Spike. You may have people here in Sunnydale fooled into trusting you, but not me. You have a part in this thing. I'm going to find out what it is. So we can do this the easy or the hard way. I'll give you a chance at the easy way first." He paused, looking in his eyes to show his seriousness. "Start talking."

"Blocking the sun!" He laughed, it was a really good idea considering his problem with the sun, he was dissapointed that he never thought of it. "Do you think I could do something like that?" He went a sat on his chair, when it dawned on him what he just said. "Don't answer that" he glared at Angel.
"What's the big problem about the sun being blocked out? I would of figured that you'd be the first one prancing about outside, trying to recapture that humanity, you miss so much."
"What made you think I have anything to do with it anyway?" Spike was flattered that Angel thought of him first.

"No problem," Angel answered. "Except vampires walking around at any time of day leaving no one safe, not even in the daytime. But I have a feeling you fingered that one out."
To Spike's next question, he lost his patience. He just wanted to do this, get in and get out. Not stick around for chit chat. He needed to move this process along.
He suddenly grabbed Spike by the neck and pushed him over the table. He held him there. "I have no time for games. Where I got my information from has nothing to do with your ability to 'start talking' but I'll have you know that there is no use in you lying. I will know. And the fact that you have no 'problem' with it, by the way, does nothing for your case. Now, I'll ask you again...what are you doing, huh Spike? How are you involved with this?"

"Of course I've already figured that out, I'm smarter then I look" he pulled out a smoke and put it to his lips. He didn't get time to light it as Angel came running at him and pushed him on the table.
"Easy there" Spike mocked. "Ow" he squirmed uncomfortably in Angel's graps, "that's skin." Spike glared into Angel's eyes, to try to scare him but he knew it wouldn't help much.
"Fine...You want some information?" He pushed Angel off him. He pulled a piece of paper out of his pocket and gave it to Angel. "There's the place to go, to get all the information you want."

Angel's eyes narrowed and he snatched the paper from him. It was a folded letter. As he unfolded it, he glanced at Spike suspiciously, fully expecting for him to pull the wool over his eyes. He looked down at the paper and saw it was a letter from Wolfram & Hart, asking for Spike's "services". Apparently they heard about his history of slayer killing and hadn't gotten the memo that Spike has since...changed, for what it's worth. Angel didn't believe that Spike was "changed" in the way the he, himself, was changed. No matter what, Spike would be the same deceptive Spike, good or bad. You can never be sure what side he's on. He knew Spike for enough years to know that about his character. Unfortunately, Buffy didn't.
"What is this, Spike?" He asked. "Wolfram & Hart tried to get you on their team?" He wouldn't put it pass him if Spike said yes to them. It's probably why Cordelia had the vision of him. "Must've been something in it for you."

Spike finally got to his smoke lighted as Angel read the letter from Wolfram and Hart. "Yeah, but they just wanted me for a "trial" basis, or some crap. The only thing in it for me, was immunity. Immunity that they won't kill me."
Spike saw studied Angel's face. It looked like he was trying to guess if he joined them. "If your wondering if I joined them, you don't have to worry....I didn't." He took a drag from his smoke and blew smoke rings.
His stomach rumbled again. He made his way to the fridge and got himself a fresh glass of blood. As he poured it, he pushes something off the bench and onto the ground, so its out of Angel's view.
On the ground, is a contract from Wolfram and Hart. On the bottom, next to a big read tag "SIGN HERE" is Spike's signiture.
"Oh, sorry. Did you want one?" He offers him a glass.

Angel rolled his eyes and sighed. "I don't have time for this Spike. I don't buy this. You mean to tell me they threatened to kill you and you didn't take the deal? I know you, ,Spike, you're all about yourself. What, did they give you a new car on the side with that order of immunity? Again, you can fool Buffy but not me."
He approached Spike, shaking his head and sat on the bench. Gazing at the letter he said, "So Wolfram & Hart wants you for the apocalypse. So if you didn't take the deal, you wouldn't mind telling me what they wanted you for."

They had offered something else on side, but if he dared tell Angel what it was, Angel would immediately know that he's joined them. Angel can never know that they offered to take out his chip.
Bugger, Spike thought. He was hoping that Angel wouldn't ask that. The only thing Spike could tell him is the truth.
"Exactly that.....They wanted me for the apoclypse. They had their own plans for the apocolypse, the blocking out the sun was just a bonus on their behalf. So they wanted me to find the big bad, become friends with him and bring him over to their side."
Spike studied Angel's face to see if he believed him or not, but he couldn't tell since his happy face was the same as his angry face. Spike had a theory why Angel was like that......Too many botoxes.

Angel leaned forward, looking up at Spike, face stoic. "Hm. Yeah and you're telling me you didn't even want to do it, aren't you? Give me a break, Spike." He got up and paced a few steps, thinking. But he was so frustrated with this whole situation, he didn't think so much about getting info out of Spike, but rather the thought of Spike being so close to Buffy. He kept telling himself to be strong, that he left Sunnydale for a reason. To give Buffy a life he couldn't provide. But after knowing about that day they shared back in LA, the day that she didn't even remember...it hurt. He couldn't deny that.
He spun around to Spike. "You're still giving me this honorable facade, Spike. You didn't even consider it? Is that what you're saying? If they threatened to kill you...how did you get out of it?" He approached Spike, closer, more threatening. "You'd do anything to save your own tail. Even take advantage of people." He then added, in a slightly sarcastic and slightly under his breath, "I bet Buffy was on that list."

"Stop asking me what I'm saying!" Spike grew frustratingly annoyed, "I've told you everything I know, so sod off!" He yelled and fell down on the couch, he wished Buffy hadn't left. This would be eaiser.
"You're right, I'll do anything to save my own tail....But this time it's different" he sighed. "It's different because of...Buffy" his voiced dropped down, so it wouldn't be auideble to human ear. But in Angel's case he would have no problem hearing it. "So yeah, in other words Buffy was on that list."
He walked over to the door, to let Angel out. "Do you mind?" He guestered out, only to notice Buffy was still standing there.
"Buffy?"

With Spike's quiet confession, Angel's simmering anger and frustration blew it's top. "Look, don't give me that Spike. You don't know the first thing about doing something for someone other than your self. So you can quit pretending like you love and care about Buffy. That trick is not going to happen. Not with her, not with me."
He watched as Spike moved towards the door and didn't even hear or notice Spike's discovery. "I am not leaving until you stop dancing around this, Spike. Fact is, Buffy doesn't need someone like you who is driven by their own selfish impulses." He approached him at the door. "So why don't you give it up, go find Dru, and..." He finally noticed what Spike noticed and paused mid sentence. "...and..." He put on a stern face again and turned to Spike."...tell me more about this apocalypse!" He knew anyway that Buffy had heard all that he was saying.

Buffy stood there in shock, thankful she was leaning against the wall for support. What she'd just overheard between the two vampires was unreal... and what sounded dangerous. Something else was coming... something no doubt she'd have to try to stop. But the bit about her rocked her the most. Had she really been that stupid to believe Spike... Spike... actually cared for her?
She jumped when her name was said and glancing towards the sound, her eyes widened as she realised she'd just been caught.
"Oh, hi! I... was just coming back to see if you guys were done. Really, I haven't been here the whole time..." To her dismay, her tone gave away the fact that she was lying. With a deep sigh, Buffy suddenly grabbed Spike by the collar and pushed him against the wall. "Okay, Spike. Angel might be patient enough for your little games... but I'm not."
She then glanced at Angel with cold eyes. "Don't you dare try to cover this up! I did in fact hear EVERYTHING." She slammed Spike into the wall as hard as she could, still holding onto him. "Give me one good reason why I shouldn't just dust you right here and now."
