Buffy watched as the ambulance bundled the girl inside the vehicle, all the while saying things to each other while they examined the now quite pale girl. She didn't even notice that Xander had gone back inside. She continued to watch as the ambulance took off, the sirens screaming. She stood in the dark, not moving a muscle while the soft breeze played with her hair. Instantly, she brushed the strands behind an ear and that one movement brought her back to the present. With one final look in the direction that the ambulance had gone, Buffy headed back inside.
She gazed around again for Xander, wondering where he'd gotten to. Upon seeing him, she moved one foot forward then halted again. There was a group of people around the table that Xander sat at. The young woman was too familiar for Buffy's liking, but she forced herself to smile as she began to walk again. It was then she noticed the shot glasses. Buffy raised an eyebrow, amused.
"Well, well, look who decided to show up." She flashed Faith a half smile, half smirk. She didn't even bother to check out the guys that were with her, however she did roll her eye comically. "How we doing, Faith?"

Faith returned to the table with shots. He grabbed a few out of her hands and drank them down. He noticed the men that had returned with Faith, typical he thought but he didn't care. Buffy came up wearing the biggest fake smile she could, like always when shes near Faith. "Hey Buff, where were you?"

Faith managed another shot before Buffy made her way to the table.
"Well, well, look who decided to show up."
As Faith sipped a little water, she saw Buffy roll her eyes.
"How we doing, Faith?"
"Well, B." She began. Her speech slightly slurred, "You know me, the life of the party. Care to join us? I heard th-"
At that moment, one of the guys from the bar threw his arm around her shoulder.
"Cool it!"She said, shoving him off. "I heard that you got it on earlier, so i figure it's time to let your hair down."

Angel walked in, scanning the area with his eyes cautiously. He took slow, deliberate and uneasy steps inside the Bronze. He wished he was there only to say hi to his friends and especially Buffy. But unfortunately more dire motives forced him to go out and find her. That night he had met an old face. A very very old face. His name was Desmond. The last time he'd seen Desmond was 120 years ago, back in the days when saying hi to friends translated into eating them. He remembered clearly Desmond had a beautiful wife and child with him as they were making their way home from a night out. He also remembered how eager Darla was to get to them. They were so young, so happy. So he and Darla gave Desmond the agonizing choice...to choose between his daughter and his wife. When he did, Darla killed of them both anyway. Desmond watched it all happen. By the time Darla was finished with the girls, Angel remember how he grew bored of Desmond. Desmond wanted to end his life. There was no fear left. Just numbness. So just for fun, he remembered all too well, turning him into one of them. After a mild debate between he and Darla, he remembered leaving Desmond. He left Desmond with a curse. Seeing Desmond that night sent Angel into internal turmoil. It was another agonizing reminder of the years of pain he's caused, the heavy weight hanging over his broad shoulders, the darkness that hid under his piercing eyes. Desmond left Ireland, seeking revenge for what Angel did, wanting to repay the blood that was shed from his family. Desmond heard Angel had a soul now, and that night, fled after sending Angel an ultimatum: Watch out for who you care about most. You might end up making a choice.Angel spotted Buffy at a table with Faith and Xander. He started towards them and stopped a few feet away, in Buffy's and the rest of the table's vision. His brow furrowed, he pondered about what he would do when he got to the table. What would he say? Buffy had enough on her plate, why did she have to worry now about ghosts from Angel's past? If he said something, he knew Buffy would try to make it her fight, and it wasn't. But if he said nothing, she'd be oblivious to the danger she was in. As of right now, Angel didn't know if Desmond knew that he was in love with the slayer. But Angel didn't want to take any chances. He decided that the best thing to do now was to stay with Buffy for as long as possible and keep a close watch out. (let me know if this mucks up any plans made for this thread )

Buffy watched in fascination as Xander downed shots. She'd never seen him so... reckless. "Hey Xander, maybe you should go easy on them?" Now her expression was slightly worried at her friend's behaviour, but she knew better than to try to get him to talk... she'd just wait until he approached her.
She then turned her head to look at Faith. "Yeah, you can't go far in good ol' Sunnydale without seeing a baddie these days." Buffy eyed the guys suspiciously as something was making her uneasy just at the sight of them. However, she'd already jumped to a conclusion that night with hurting Xander and she wasn't about to make the same mistake. But she decided she'd keep an eye on them just in case.
Something made her look over and her heart felt like it had frozen. She didn't make a move towards Angel, she just gazed at him with wide, surprised eyes. The look on his face made her feel wary. Something was up. Buffy raised an eyebrow at him, silently questioning.

(Hey Angel, nah won't muck it up. Sounds like a good plot)
Xander started to feel the toll the alcohol had on him, but if it would stop his unqueasniess, then keep them coming. "Well maybe you should take it easy on the....blonde hair" he said to Buffy, trying to insult her, because she told him to take it easy. She didn't seem to notice, as she was staring out to space. Xander followed her gaze and noticed Angel. "Oh, great it's him" he said unpleasently.

Angel came out of his momentary brooding and noticed Buffy's wide eyed glare. His eyes shifted and he finally approached the table. "Oh, uh....." He pulled out a chair next to Buffy. "I just came to say hi," His voice was unconvincing, so he smiled briefly at those at the table. "Xander. Faith."
He turned to Buffy. "So...." His eyes furrowed and he dropped his gaze for a moment. He then looked back at Buffy. "...you staying here long?"

(good plot angel!)
"Oh, great it's him" Xander said unpleasently.
Him and Buffy were both staring across the room at Angel. Their eyes followed him as he made his way over to their table. Faith, sensing the sudden tension, helped herself to yet another shot.
Then leaning over to xander asked, "what's up with those two?"
Her hand briefly brushed against one of the guys exposed arms. His skin was surprisingly ice-cold, but by then faith was so disoriented she didn't register anything.

"There probably undressing each other with their minds" Xander told Faith. He swallowed down another shot. He shook his head, a normal response considering the taste of it. Angel had made this night even more crappier with his sudden appearence. He's probably here just to get Buffy to help with one of his stupid problems. Man can't this guy doing anything for himself, Xander thought.
(Sorry Angel, I like you, it's just that Xander never really did. Your not mad at me are ya?)

Yet again Buffy raised an eyebrow at Xander's bad comeback about her hair. She made a mental note to confront him later about what was bothering him, but since she'd spotted Angel, her focus was on him at the time being. When Angel then sat besides her, her pulse picked up just by the closeness of him. Oh, this was going well.
"Uh, hi." Buffy winced as she heard her own nervous tone. She tried to act cool. "Oh yeah, we'll be here for a while... right guys?" She looked at Faith and Xander in turn, her gaze practically telling them to agree or else. Buffy couldn't even register what Faith and Xander were doing or talking about. I am pathetic, she sighed, defeated, as she thought that.

Angel pressed his lips together in mild acknowledgment towards Xander and Faith's comments. However, he listened intently to Buffy, saying that they would be there for a while. Angel scanned the area again. Public. Crowded. Potentially not the place Desmond would search first. It would by him some time. Angel nodded. "Good. That's good." He paused. "Look, there's something--" He hesitated. Angel didn't know why he was having such time bringing himself to tell Buffy what was happening. She'd known Angel long enough. She knew that he liked to read and hated singing in public. She knew that at one point he was pure evil and took pleasure in torturing his victims. No big deal right?
Angel sighed. Definite big deal. On top of that, this wasn't her fight. But how could Angel keep her out of it when Desmond would make sure she would be in the middle of it? Then again, there was no guarantee of how much he did know. Maybe Desmond's ignorance would buy him some time as well, so he could figure out what exactly he planned to do about this situation. In the mean time, he was just tempted to keep Buffy in the dark about this.
He shook his head and decided to drop the first comment. "I saw an ambulance and police outside." He stated, but it was an inquiry. He looked at Buffy and the others questionably. "What happened?"

Xander knew that the question was directed at Buffy but he had no problem answering for her. "A vampire, almost ripped out a girls throat" he said pleasntly, if he wasn't drunk it wouldn't have seemed so pleasent. He said that with out caring about the two men with Faith, even if he did think they were human.
He knew that this wasn't the real reason why Angel was here, he could tell, because he always does this. He knew that Buffy couldn't see that Angel had another motive for his being here but whenever Angel was around, she seemed to be blind, but by what?

Willow had heard the Ambulance's heading towards The Bronze and she'd begun running towards it, she knew that it was where Buffy and Xander were and she was instantly worried, more about Xander since he wasn't "The Chosen One" an couldn't always defend himself. I any other town abulances would be a sign of a pub fight or something but in Sunnydale it normall spelt supernaral disaster! Arriving at the Bronze she saw Angel and Buffy talking, she'd been right it was something more then a drunken fight, she wentover to buffy immediately relieved that she was OK, but she turned to Xander to ask "What happened?" Buffy was talking to Angel and she kw better then to interrupt that!

Giles is seen running towards where the scoobies were now situated. "What happened, I got a call telling me that there was trouble?" Giles observes the ambulance nearby. "Oh....this kind of trouble..." Giles puts his hands behind his head and begins talking with Willow, while Angel and Buffy are alone.

Angel gazed at Xander, unimpressed, and noted that he was clearly intoxicated. Vampire...nearly ripping a girl's throat out...not too uncommon. Nothing to be too worried about. But Angel couldn't help but wonder if the vampire was Desmond. For a moment, he thought Desmond could be in there already, but no. Angel rationalized that he would have smelt his scent.
He saw Willow join the group, again, glad to see a friend. Willow seemed to have the same inquiry as Angel did, so he resolved to hear Buffy's version of the story before dropping the issue. But in the meantime he looked up at Willow, despite her hesitation to acknowledge him and Buffy. He didn't take offense by it. "Willow," He greeted, a hint of a smile.
Then there came Giles looking quite frantic. Now Angel knew something must've been up. But he sighed, a bit annoyed at the table's attitude around him which Giles added onto with his comment, and turned to Buffy, still awaiting an answer from her.
